I came back empty handed from the Post Office today! :grumpy:
It's not usually the news I post as a new thread - quite the opposite - but I thought I'd share my excitement, disappointment and anticipation with you. And I will post the knife here when it comes; FINALLY
!
The thing is, this knife hits all the right buttons for me. It is a brand I collect, it's a rare pattern, and it appears to be in spectacular condition!
It also strikes a chord with several of my friends here in this bastion of traditional knives. And the pattern has been known and loved by many of you. I will keep it's identity as a surprise! Those of you who know, please don't spill 'em!! Those who don't but have been around here, might take an educated guess
!
Let me explain; I have to drive about 40 minutes each way to that darn post office, so I don't get there every day. I thought I had waited long enough for Pammy the Postie to get it into my P.O. box, but it is still in transit somewhere between California and Washington! Groan
!
Now, I won't get back there before Tuesday or Wednesday. And I hope it is as advertised!!
One of my good friends here, knowing I've been on the edge of my chair, called my cell as I was driving back from the border (the P.O. is across the line!) and checked to see if I got it, and of course I said no, but I told him I already was running through ways to post it here!!
And now I've posted this ridiculous thread because it keeps me from running around the block and scaring the neighbors (you haven't seen me run!)!
Soooooo! Watch this spot! By next week there will be some awesome news!
