I came back empty handed from the Post Office today! :grumpy:

It's not usually the news I post as a new thread - quite the opposite - but I thought I'd share my excitement, disappointment and anticipation with you. And I will post the knife here when it comes; FINALLY:rolleyes:!

The thing is, this knife hits all the right buttons for me. It is a brand I collect, it's a rare pattern, and it appears to be in spectacular condition!
It also strikes a chord with several of my friends here in this bastion of traditional knives. And the pattern has been known and loved by many of you. I will keep it's identity as a surprise! Those of you who know, please don't spill 'em!! Those who don't but have been around here, might take an educated guess:D !

Let me explain; I have to drive about 40 minutes each way to that darn post office, so I don't get there every day. I thought I had waited long enough for Pammy the Postie to get it into my P.O. box, but it is still in transit somewhere between California and Washington! Groan :( !
Now, I won't get back there before Tuesday or Wednesday. And I hope it is as advertised!!

One of my good friends here, knowing I've been on the edge of my chair, called my cell as I was driving back from the border (the P.O. is across the line!) and checked to see if I got it, and of course I said no, but I told him I already was running through ways to post it here!!
And now I've posted this ridiculous thread because it keeps me from running around the block and scaring the neighbors (you haven't seen me run!)!

Soooooo! Watch this spot! By next week there will be some awesome news!

Too bad you didn't get it today. Sounds like it's one of the "ones" you've been wanting.
Can't wait to see it. You got me all excited now. :D

Charlie,I'm sorry you missed the delivery.Savor the anticipation,I guess.
Lemme take a shot at guessing that grail........a Tony Bose Zulu spear jack, shadow pattern, with a CPM 154 blade :D ?
Have a great Father's Day weekend buddy,
-Vince

Tuesday or Wednesday ?

Dang Charlie, I'd be callin' Pammy in the morning !

Can't wait to hear if it's as good as it looked !

Not a ridiculous thread at all my friend, and in fact now I can probably just defer one episode of must-have-fever by vicariously enjoying your international anticipation.

Whatever it is, I can't wait (but I guess I have to) to see it. :)

I'm pretty sure I know only because someone else sent me the info. Congrats Charlie. Can't wait to see your scans.

Oh yeah! I can definitely understand your anticipation on this one buddy! Quite a find!

Say, just don't wear that mickey mouse hat while you're running around the house, OK?:D

Well, I don't wear it around the block, but in the house  ?
I kinda like it, you know ;) !

Man, I am spending half my time trying to schedule in a trip to the P.O. I might be able to get there Monday . . . . .we'll see. . . . .

Charlie, we'll help share the anticipation with you...you just need to pass the knife around after it arrives! :p

Can't wait to see this one!

It's not a straight Russell easy opener daddy barlow in stag with lockback and fish scaler "sawback" blade is it? Or maybe a Joseph Rodgers Her Majesty era 6 blade congress with tortoise shell scales and engraved gold mounts - all in the original presentation boxes? No wait, those are some of *my* Holy Grail knives. My bad.

Dwight and Vince, I hope you score your "Grail" knives some day! I am hoping mine is in the mail, and hasn't fallen off the Pony Express!
No tracking number unfortunately.
For you who are guessing, it doesn't resemble any of the patterns mentioned so far. But I think you will all like it!!

Charlie,
Now that is what it is all about, a true love for the knives! Just a stab in the dark, but 3OT? Looking forward to see the Grail! Congratulations on the find!

Thanks Charlie...You have us waiting now, with you ,too.
It'll get there.
Lemme take another shot at this,is it a Scout type knife ?

A 3OT, man wouldn't that be nice! Right now you'd have to fly half way around the world to see one of those. Something tells me you're going to make that trip every day 'till the knife arrives:D:D

Eric, if the old boy was single, he'd of had 'Pammy's' phone number long ago, and saved a lot of gas. ;)

I've been known to arrive at the P.O. before hours and press my nose against the window until 'Lisa' hands my package out the door. :D
