A little Bookie/Bawanna collaboration (he did the hard part)

Glad to hear they look dangerous! I'm taking into advisement the "Micro Mini Gladius" as a must have.

So in this thread we have a Mini Micro Yataghan, and a Mini Micro Gladius. What will we Mini Micro next?

Maybe a mini micro falcate?

Or maybe we could wash Bookie in hot water (he's there a lot) and run him on spin cycle, like auto rotation and see if he shrinks? If he does, I'm next.

I can't think of a way to make a mini micro falcata that wouldn't just be a kagas katne or biltong. The odd handle of the falcata demands a certain size if a human wants to grip it. I suppose one could take the handle of the falcata and put it on a Sirupati or some other normal sized kukri.

And on a funny note, I mentioned the idea of a Mini Micro Gladius to a friend, and he has commissioned me to design one for him, and he'll pay me for the design, and he'll have another friend make it.

Stwm, I promise it will be a design unique from yours. It will be closer to an original Gladius in design, and it won't have a finger ring.

I'm sketching out a Bowie sized one first, and then one with an about-five inch blade, though no finger ring. If y'all are interested I could possibly put you in contact with the maker once the design meets with the commissioner's satisfaction and when the maker finishes the first one. No guarantees as of yet, though because my friend is paying me for the design, so I will be finishing it, that's a guarantee.

Well sounds great, stay in touch. Maybe you can get one BB and I can own one vicariously through you :D

Second from the bottom looks a lot like a Fairbairn Cobra.

Shavru, it sounds like you're talking about a Spyderco Civilian. A friend of mine did a review of the recurved Fairbairn Cobra, and he has an explanation as to why that blade shape cuts so well.

Actually a CS Black Talon. Very similar. The Black Talon has a bit thicker blade and mine at least didn't have the serrations. The Civilian is a touch larger and a touch more pronounced point. But it also seems a bit thin to be using the point on anyone wearing jeans or heavier materials.

And yes the Fairbairn Cobra is just one of my favorites of William Fairbairn's collaborations/designs. That and of course the Fairbairn-Sykes, but let's not forget the orignal Smatchet he designed with Applegate as well as the modifications to the Fairbairn-Sykes that became the Applegate-Fairbairn. Yeah, I am sort of a Fairbairn fanatic... Sorry

You're not the only fan here. I also correspond regularly with the owner of www.Fairbairnsykesfightingknives.com, so even though I already liked Fairbairn's work, I like it even more now.

And don't worry, I will post pictures. I may post pictures of the sketches, and when some of these take life as steel I will definitely post pictures.

The Vorpal Bowie on his site is outstanding.

Yeah, he just got that and likes it. Says it handles a bit like a Sirupati. And it's a real beauty. I don't have a close-up of it, but I saw one, and the Hamon is amazing.

Scara is this it?!

I'll have to look this over more closely and in detail. Hard to determine. Any more supported photo's for scientific purposes of course.
