I second this. My old man never really took the time to do this kind of stuff with my brother and I. Now, I have a 10-yr-old bro as well and he is finding out how much fun it can be. And trying to get the older two, I am 24 my bro is 21, involved when he can.

I don't mean to rag on the old codger, he did alot for us kids and we were probably ungrateful alot. He taught me how to fix a car and how to kick ass and how to treat women. He didn't teach me much in the woods except how to aim and shoot. I wish that we had spent time camping and such. It is a passion of mine. I hope to pass it on one day.

Not only are my kids all grown up, my grand kids are about all grown up as well. My Grand daughter just turned 16. Enjoy your time, they will be older and you will be dumb before you know it. Never fear though you will get smart again after while. When I got home from boot camp I couldn't believe how much my dad had learned in such a short time.

I'm trying to make it through kids #5 and #6 before all my joints fail and I still remember how to do things without a camp trailer or hotel nearby. Got to do the outdoors skills stuff with them before they discover the opposite gender, video games and make-up.

From someone who didn't (doesn't) have a father figure, HUGE ups to you for doing these things with him.

I'm a little young for it still, but your pics and story is exactly how I want to be if I have a little boy. He looks like he doesn't have a care in the world, just hangin' with dad. That's the way it's supposed to be.
