Anyone who's dealt directly with CRK, knows what an absolute pleasure Bridgette is. She's consistently nice, helpful and gets the job done. I was talking with her yesterday concerning the "sprucing up" of my Sebenza and I asked what she thought of the new "green Beret" knife. Said she loves it, told me all about it and that she's going to have to break down and buy one herself. She was pretty excited about that knife.
HERE'S A CHANCE TO DO SOMETHING FOR A PERSON WHO'S HELPED SO MANY OF US. AS A GROUP, LET'S BUY HER THE KNIFE !!
For those who want to take part, let's each contribute either $10 or $20. It's roughly a $300 knife, so we should be able to knock it out in no time. I've tried to think this through a little bit. It could turn into a real mess, so let's just follow a few guidelines and I think it'll work out OK.
Send $10 or send $20, no more. This is not a gesture from me or from any particular individual. It's a group gesture and we don't want to be competing to overshadow each other. NO PERSONAL CHECKS. That's really important. Make your contribution in the form of a money order, only. Also, we don't want to pay $25000 for a $300 knife. CRK would have an accounting nightmare on their hands. Each contributor should post to this thread, indicating the amount of the contribution and the running total. Let's bring it to $380, to cover checks that are "lost in the mail". Any overpayment will go on account for Bridgette at CRK. Let's not go beyond that. Also, if you post that you're contributing, make sure that you send the indicated amount RIGHT AWAY. Not a couple days later. Let's not draw this out. Let's make it easy. Painless for CRK, that's the whole idea.
This is going to go real fast. For those who miss a chance to contribute, that's okay, just pipe in on this thread anyway, but don't send $$. This is from us, as a group, even the ones who couldn't get the check out in time.
One last point / request. On these forums, we argue, agree, disagree, learn a lot about knives, the cutlery industry, etc... Sometimes, we go nuts and turn sensible discussions into non-sensible discussions or get a little stuck in a myriad of pointless details. No doubt, this is not a perfect plan. It's just a good idea and I'm sure we'll all agree on that. It's OUR idea, not mine. So, let's not debate the details or change the plan. Let's just do it. I'm sending my $20 today.
