Does anyone here EDC something cheap like a gerber?
I am a student so I cant really afford super expensive stuff, the most expensive knife I have is a 119 ahaha

I was carrying an ontario rat 1 and a kershaw skyline this week with a SAK cadet. Pretty inexpensive. I like budget blades alot.

Take a look at the
Cold Steel Tuff Lite

Spyderco Tenacious, Ambitious, Persistence, Resilience

Victorinox SAKs

Opinels

Yea I have a Vic Driver and a One Hand trekker, love those blades.

A spyderco would still be a bit expensive for me. Maybe in the future I will get one!

What is your budget?

Well it depends honestly. If I see something I REALLY REALLY want at the store, I would probably buy it. For instance I would not order an expensive spyderco online, but if I was at a knife store and it was there infront of me, I would probably buy it ahaha.

Do a search. Lots of threads on inexpensive knives. The ones I have and carry the most are the ontario Utilitac II, Kershaw Tremor, and Kershaw Thermite. Others to look at are the RAT 1 & 2. On any given day the knife I carry could be $25 to $485. All have their place. If the value is there it does not matter the price.

Buck 482 20$
Buck 283 12$
Vintage imperial jackmaster Barlow ( gift from a forum member, never expensive to begin with and fetch about 10$ )
Case sodbuster Jr 30$
Buck 110 36$
None of these are expensive, but since I know my needs they're as good as I could ever buy.

The way I see it, if it has basic quality ( no blade play, and serviceable Steel...ect ) nothing else will actually make the knife better.

I edc some cheaper knives every now and then, nothing wrong with that. Here is a few you might like that have good reviews. I either own or have owned at least a variation of all of these, i like them.
Under $100
1. Benchmade mini griptillian
2. Spyderco Delica
3. Cold steel code 4
4. Spyderco Manix 2
5. H&K Axis (really like that one)
Under $50
1. Spyderco tenacious
2.any kershaw (leek,blur,link,scallion,cryo,skyline)
3. victorinox - any - I have the fieldmaster
4. Crkt M16
5.Buck 110 or 112
under $25
1. crkt drifter
2. opinal
3. ontario rat - 1 or 2
4.more kershaws
5. Buck vantage (also has pro models that are more expensive)

I second the Byrd. At $20, you can't beat the quality.
Auto, Lightning otf.

Based on what you've said, I'd try to locate a knife store in your area or plan on visiting when you might be traveling.

I edc a SAK a lot and they're pretty cheap relative to most knives. But I understand they aren't for everyone.

As mentioned, there have been quite a few threads concerning knives priced under $50 or so.

Tenacious is a go-to for me. Just picked up a pair of alox Vics from a fellow member here and those will be on me for the better part of everyday. Classic on the key chain and Cadet in the "coin pocket" of my jeans.

I love my cheap knives just like I love expensive ones - if not more. Cheap knives mean I won't even begin to hesitate to beat it up. It's why I have Rough Rider slipjoints that cost $8 in the same drawer with $300 knives, and why I have $20 fixed blades that I'll carry interchangeably with $200 fixed blades.

It all comes down to form and function. As long as I feel the price is justified by the materials and it's in my budget, it gets used.

All the stuff I EDC is less than 40 USD and most of it is not made in China:

Aitor and Joker are good brands from Spain and you can find their products online(e.g. Amazon) at fair prices. Just be careful not too get ATK or JKR which are owned by Aitor and Joker, respectively, but made in China. I also have a couple of Cold Steels and the knife to the right is a Martinni Pelican from Finland. Beautiful knife with Scandinavian grind. The only Chinese in that group is the Gerber and I got it because I didn't know at the time much about knives. It is a copy of the CRKT M16 which is better and has a mechanism to prevent lock failure.

I have been thinking of an Endura4. Anyone ever had one? Is it good? I will have to get it during some holiday so I have an excuse to blow so much money ahaha

The Delica and Endura are great knives and modestly priced. The Endura is the larger of the two.

I have been thinking of an endura for a loooong time. I watched a video of the cutlerylover chopping a tree with it, fell inlove ahaha. I love the blade shape too
