A lot of expensive knives, but what about cheap ones?

Then THAT is the one for you! The Endura was the second Spyderco knife I purchased. I have a plain edge and fully serrated one. I then decided for me I was more comfortable carrying and using the smaller Delica. Both great edc knives and they don't cost a fortune (at least in the US). Not sure if cutting a tree down is a good reason to choose one. But we all have fun doing stuff.

I often carry a CRKT Folts Bowie. It's great for the "hey can I borrow your knife" situation. Stupid simple to use, cheap to replace, yet with a touch up on a Sharpmaker, it can take out an appendix.

One that I like is the Kabar Dozier folding hunter which runs about $20US. But I much prefer Spydie's.

The thing with me though, If I get something like an endura, I will just have it infront of me, never used. I would be too scared to scratch it or anything ahaha, one of the reason I have cheaper knives.

Also @Mister X, the whole "Stupid simple to use". I let my friend use my knife one time, and he didn't know how to close it. It was a lockback. He also wants to be a soldier....

Kershaw Link. USA made, 420hc steel, spring assisted, excellent warranty, 4 different versions ranging from GRN handles to aluminum and all for under $45.

How has Noone mentioned an Opinel yet?!

Fantastic slicers available in a multitude of sizes, as well as carbon and stainless, locking and non, Light, easy to mod with simple sand paper and some tung oil, and they get Crazy sharp Very easily.

I have been thinking of an endura for a loooong time. I watched a video of the cutlerylover chopping a tree with it, fell inlove ahaha. I love the blade shape too

The Endura is a classic! I've had a few. Great knife. I now prefer the Salt Version (Pacific Salt) of the endura but the platform is undeniably great.

I make around 140 CAD a week so getting a 95 dollar knife for me is a bit pricey ahaha. But one day I will definitely own it!

Does anyone here EDC something cheap like a gerber?
I am a student so I cant really afford super expensive stuff, the most expensive knife I have is a 119 ahaha

I frequently carry Ontario RAT 1 and II's, and recently got a RealSteel H6 that is very well made for such an affordable knife.

BTW, Dig the name, I recently discovered that TV series and have powered through all 4 seasons! :)

Save them bucks kid. We've all been there. When you get one use the hell out of it or don't buy one.
Thanks :) I'm going to try to use my knives now so I have an excuse to buy an endura in the future!

Tuck away $20 a week and in about a month you'll have the funds. Hopefully your expenses aren't real high especially if you live with the folks.

I try to help my mom sometimes, but now im trying to actually save up money for school and stuff. Will have to play with stuff I have right now ahaha

I usually carry a SAK or a Leatherman everyday, and to be honest, I get more use out of them than my high-end folders. The folders are great too, but they don't work too well as screwdrivers, pliers, scissors, toothpicks, tweezers, saws, etc...

People might laugh at your Swiss Army Knife, but when you're the guy fixing their car with one, they'll learn to shut up.

:D

You can pick up a Kershaw Blur for under $50 US if you look around, very nice quality blade. Also check out Real Steel knives, I have a couple and they are very good quality (better than some US made knives I've paid 2x as much for)

Thanks for great suggestion everyone. I have only been on these forums for like 2 days, but I am very glad I joined. Everyone here is very awesome and positive!I love learning new things.
I am going to sleep now so good night everyone who is involved in this thread!

I love my Endura 4 and recently received Ontario Rat 2 in OD green...very pleased with this 'inexpensive' folder.

About all I have is cheap knives. Opinel, Mora, Aitor, Filmam, Marttiini, higonokami, lots of Rough Rider, Case, SAK, Condor, Douk-Douk, some lower-end Cold Steel. Most are in the $10-20 range, and none is over $50. One, the CS Kudu, was about six bucks. I do have a few Benchmades, but nothing over about $130.00. There is a lot of fun to be had in sampling the wares of some out-of-the way producers.
