Aaaaaaannnnddddd we’re offf! Day one of beachyness. We made the 4.5hr trek across the state. Garden City Beach is just south of Myrtle Beach.

Beers and Barlows seemed to be a great way to start the week.

Today’s GEC + Case pair is a recovered Eureka Jack and a trapper that was originally one color of red and not very attractive IMO. Added a bit of leather dye and gave it some character. Now I like it much better.

Sometimes you have to wear out these growing kids. I drew a circle in the sand and said, “I bet you can’t dig until you hit water.” They hit water.

Not really though. I’ve been digging a huge hole in the sand since they were toddlers and letting them play in it. Now they dwarf the huge hole. Now they always want to dig the hole out of nostalgia. At least now they help me dig!

Sand in the joints would almost be as bad as a week without knives!

No…no sand exposure for the carbon divas. They stayed pampered and tucked away in air conditioned luxury. All photos of cutlery pre-beachified away from the salt air. I’m all about patina but I’m scared of “pit”tina.

Perhaps we will get another run of GEC stockmen soon . Perhaps something more sized up with that Case 47!
