Anybody else go into Walmart and see uniformed security guards at the exits checking customer receipts? I sent them a message on the website when I got home telling them that if they're going to treat all of their customers like inmates (in addition to all the other BS people have to put up with in there) then I'll do my shopping elsewhere. I have plenty of other options.

THAT'S the thing that turns you off Walmart?

They've been trying to move into LA proper ever since I moved here (from a town that pretty much lived off of Walmart). But the city actually holds votes that keep Walmart out. Don't get me wrong, I've shopped there a ton in my time (and still do when I'm in a pinch). But when Sam Walton left us, that company changed behind the scenes and did an excellent job of not letting it be known.

It's not the only thing and I have made many complaints in the past. In the same message was a laundry list of stuff I said they needed to fix if they ever want my business back. I really miss Bi-Mart up in the Pacific northwest, awesome sporting goods section for such a small department store.

One of our local Wal-Marts has literally been declared a public nuisance. I kid you not.

I quit going to any Wal-marts a while ago because I cannot stand shopping at any of their stores. I was about to go into a rant, but I will spare you a long line of drivel about the perception of marginally better prices at the cost of...... Well, there I almost went again.

Must be a Colorado thing. I've been to 3 different Walmarts in the last 4 days with no guards. I'm not real sure I would comply with being inspected with no justification as I walked out from the registers. I know Sam's can get away with it because of some BS about being a "membership" facility, and not open to the general public.

I know Fry's does it (not armed, just minimum wage hirelings) and I seldom go there because of it. But on the rare occasions that I do, I also refuse to show them the receipt. I don't wait in line for their stupid inspection, nor do I show them what's in my bag. I just walk right by and ignore them.

Kids start school next week here... Looking forward to it :D

Doc.... I heard this song.... Answer to no one by Colt Ford... Reminded me of you....

Been wearing some Teva's on my feet since I got here... Great sandals... Whoever recommended them, Dres I think?, thanks! Best feeling shoes I have had in a long time... I have worn them all in rivers, creeks, mud, woods, stores, boats... Everywhere I have went and needed to wear shoes... When these wear out... I'll get another set just like em.

Granted.. The first pair I bought gave me blisters in less than 10 minutes... Ripped the skin on my ankle off... Took them right back, exchanged for the ones I got now and been happy since.

Haven't finished the tables in my shop yet.. Actually haven't done anymore since... Been playing... Need to get back at it soon though.

Wood, if I'm the Doc you're referring to (since there are a couple or so)... Thanks... It's good to remembered for something besides being an a$$hole.

Doc

Going to the cabin for the first time in 7 weeks. Looking forward to it.

My cousin used to manage a Walmart. Wanna guess what that job paid? This was in the late 90s, early 2000s.

Closest wins

... a congratulatory statement.

Two answers to that.

1. Hot is in the eye of the beholder.

2. The same reason none of us can ever find that winning lottery ticket.

So true!
