guards checking receipts? seems fine to me.

lots of stores have a lot of lossage.

outright theft.

they pass that cost to the customer.

which means prices go up.

now, if those guards want to rummage in my bag? nope.

but most stores want to see receipts these days it seems.

I would be fine with the guards just there, more guards throughout the store, more cams and such. But trying to prevent me from leaving without showing a receipt every single time is a bit much. Maybe having to show a receipt for something that isn't in a bag I can see. I have heard of people stealing large items by just picking it up and walking right out the front door like they paid for it in the back.

i've had some dudes ask to look in my bag, i said "no thanks" they said "no really!" and i said "hey, i'm leaving, you have video, if there's something in my bag, call the cops, else, out of my way, i'm busy"

unlike say, what i consider illegal stops to see if you are drunk, and then attempting to get into your trunk :D

I guess 38k. What? I won? Awesome! PM sent with my address..

Wow, I didn't remember offering up my entire knife collection. I must have been really drunk two hours ago. :)

Anyhow, you're way off. The correct answer is $50K in salary plus a yearly bonus. The bonus was between $90K and $125K. So he annually made $140K to $175K to manage a single Walmart. That's pretty good pay for Texas especially considering that all but a few of your employees are making close to minimum.

Did I understand this correctly? Some dude stopped you in a bar and tried to get into your trunk? I'm not sure that's illegal. So rest easy. No one's gonna arrest you for that.

Did I just get myself banned?

http://www.sandpiperca.com/pack-rabbit.php

Seems like a really cool product. Saw them at the exibitors both while at NOAC, think I might pick one up

wonder if you can't use that on a Becker pack of some size? while those are comfy, more is better?

in other news, i got my farm jack... if it's not raining, i'll play with it a bunch and see if it's easier to do certain jobs than a winch

gotta buck some trees, and ID the ones that are next on "the list"...

We had a lot of Sandpiper packs in our px system. I had a duffel and a 3day type bag. They were pretty robust. Hell, my dad still uses the duffel and I'm pretty sure the pack is still floating around home somewhere.

I've had mixed results with Sandpiper. I had a backpack that lasted for years, but then had a messenger bag that ripped up in less than six months. It's hit or miss with them as far as I'm concerned. Awe hell, I'll be candid here. I don't even look at them anymore. My Large Camelbak has been going strong for 6 years now and the only thing I'll look at to replace it is 5.11, Condor, VT or Maxpedition. I know it doesn't make much sense, given our rollercoaster of an economy, but my philosophy has become, "Gotta spend money to save money these days."

LOL, I agree with you. On the flipside of this I have been asked so many times lately, "Would you like a receipt?" Depending on what I'm buying I'll say yes or no. But my crux with this is, if I say no to the receipt, then anything in my bag I paid for. The burden of proof then lies with the store, not me. Of course, they can't not allow me to leave either. If they do, and find I was not in the wrong, well, I've got a civil rights lawsuit. Anyway....just thinking out loud here.

I'm curious... Did you get a regular farm jack, or spend the extra $ for the extrication jack? I've got a regular 4 ton farm jack from Tractor Supply that I've used to lift some sheds and some other tasks around the homestead, and it cost less than $100. I'm really wondering if that extrication jack is worth the extra $150?

Got to watch a couple former/current world champion/world finalist frisbee dogs yesterday and got to take a pic with a former world champion. Couldn't get a picture of him actually looking at the camera because he was too busy licking me. :D

Also got a pic with a monkey on my shoulder. :D
