don't forget to go into your settings and add yourself back into the right group, or you'll stay blue for a while... ;)

Surprisingly, I saw it, immediately went to the subscription page (that I had tabbed open a few days ago ), PayPalled it - and was back in business 2 minutes later. Thought I woulda had to do that, too....you guys can see my avatar, right?

yes - but it still says "registered user" under your name and you're still blue?

You need to be really drunk.

Getting there.... not quite yet.

Was a long day today. Woke up this morning with the kids got everybody ready to go and went up north boating with my father in law. Great day had by all, but now I'm tired and need to relax.

I sure could use a decent table saw.... 1066Vik I still think is in total amazement that I dont. Very often in our conversations that seems to coe up. Lol.

I'll be nice, Todd and let you come up and use mine when I have my shop up and running. :D

Happy we finally got those dead pigs off the back deck.

well....
if we do the "carpool" to Beckerwest, I could send you home with a vintage Craftsman table saw - it's not the latest and greatest, and may be older than me, but it has a stand and takes up a LOT less floor space than most of the saws on the current market.

No, if i recall it is grey or blueish grey. IF it is still around. It may be long gone by now.

there are router tables out there that replace or extend one wing on your table saw - make your own and save pace in a small shop.

That's badass! Thanks for the link!

Of course to take full advantage of a table saw, you need to build a table around it for bigger stuff. But you're not going to be cutting full sheets of plywood anytime soon anyway.

And don't forget to get a PB cookie dough blizzard. So awesome.

Will indeed get the blizzard :D

And I'll be just setting the saw on my work table for normal smaller cutting jobs, but I'm also going to get one of the saw stands, so I can take the saw outside and cut larger boards.

Oh.. I need to cut some plywood already actually lol...

Ok, just broke down and ordered three different beard waxes/balms. Hoping they help tame this coarse beard.

And this video is just too good to not share.

Coconut oil works wonders on my beard... Oh and certain chap sticks...

Slow snark tonight.

I've recently been getting into archery, my dad gave me his old bow, a wing redwing hunter. Unfortunately it's made for a right and I shoot south paw, so I'm thinking if I end up really liking recurves, I might get a left handed samick sage. Any of you guys used this bow?

okay, many planes restored. that's what i call coordinate nation ;) give me an x! give a y! give me a z! go ax+by+cz+d = 0 !!!

have to repaint one of the #5s. i have a strong desire to use "house purple", because, why the hell not. might do that to a couple others as well :D did it with the loom, and other things. house color.

For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain! (original poem)

For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain! (theirs)

For purple houses majesties
above the enameled planes (mine)

i never remember which hand is which for naming.

i hold bow in left, and draw with right.

might be interesting to learn to shoot both ways

samick. good stuff.

or you could get a PSE long bow for now, cheap money, and lots of fun.

i really like the SawStop - they have a contractor model which might be more useful for people with space issues (store it).

really precise, and has "that safety feature"

if you have 3 phase, you can buy a death machine 9000 proper cabinet shoppe saw for cheap. even free. nobody wants those anymore, but you need 3 phase.

[yeah, everyone says "just rewire it or get a new motor", not necessarily easy on a 30 year old death saw, but still, good saws those]

WW, table saw. First tool in the wood shop. You can crosscut, rip, miter, cut dadoes, make molding, add accessories, on and on.

second tool: dust collection :D

actually, my first tools were hand tools, and various contractor on site tools like circ saws, and reciprocating saws, and even the more basics.

now that i'm over 1/2 century old, i just got around to a table saw.

if you don't mind "the danger", one can get a free radial arm saw no problem. just NEVER rip with it. you'll still want a cheap or good compound mitre saw for the garage, but in the shop? the radial is good for ONE thing esp - dados :D

i'm in the market for a drill press, and eventually, a wood lathe and decent band saw. time and patience. first, i'm fixing the basement to be "a shoppe"
