A new knife

Is that one of those fancy Delicas?

For all the smart-aleck answers, is it so hard to write a caption for your pictures? Seriously, it takes even less effort than I'm applying here.

Ohh, eeh, ahhh, it's so hard... to press these keys... ohhh, the drudgery...

Be polite. Say what it is. You get could get hit by a bus tomorrow, or get really into ASMR, or just stop frequenting Blade Forums. Some kid could sign up years down the road and think the knife in your picture is the coolest thing he's ever seen. You can pay it forward with a favor to that kid for the low cost of like five seconds when you post it.

Reading through this…. It’s embarrassing. To suggest the OP engage with you all for the make of a knife—with this type of environment, no wonder people don’t want to reach out. A simple “if you don’t mind” request was turned into a dog pile, something you’d see in W&C. I’ve been here for 11 years and see a lot of good with this community. This certainly is not a good example.
If you don’t want to add the make/model, don’t. If you think it will help then add the name. Simple. He didn’t ask for a mandate. Get over yourselves.

This is nothing compared to W&C! That place is not for the faint of heart...

All my many pictures were deleted when my photo hosting site (of many years) closed. Now the poor kid will see blank pictures and be tramitized forevermore. Just as I was when they closed. It's a hard life.

I would prefer people add make and model info on pics too.

I would also prefer people not delete the prices in the For Sale section. I find the info helpful in pricing stuff to sell or buy.

I also don't always get what I want. I mean, Salma Hayek hasn't asked me out on a date for over 25 years.

Bladeforums is a dinosaur. We are just a bunch of people sitting together at a virtual table, chatting about our hobby: Knives.
There is no search engine optimization going on, just a very old fashioned regulars' table, where we all discuss, talk and boast about knives.
If you use Reddit for example, you need to put in the name of the knife in the title. That makes it easier to optimize for cookies and search engines and in the end monetize it.

Superficially this may look a good Idea and easy to do, but on the other hands it feels a bit "do as I want"-ish, as I am to lazy or to shy to interact - and it does not reflect what this forum is.

If someone gets a new knife that isn't well known here, he will definitely say what it is in the title or in the thread, as he'll be happy to show off.
When I use my Beckers on a hike and take a pic I will always say something like: My BK14 accompanied me and fought off a inquisitive squirrel or monsters that rose from the swamp I hiked through....

i agree that it would be helpful
that knives be named for the
sake of future forumites.

Or what? How about you do you, and those of us who choose to participate will, and those of us who remember the OP being all passive aggressive in various threads will do what we please. Thanks for the lecture, but as I didn't pay for this class, I'll do what I want, thanks.

Oh look, another professor who feels it's his duty to provide us all with a free lecture. Excellent. 882 posts in ten years, definitely someone speaking from a long history of participation.
