Can’t say I’d use this to carry my knife around but agree with comments about jobsite uses. I’ve been up on a roof in awkward position where it was necessary to clip my knife on the outside of my pocket for example. I think it would work well with a few of the “clips” set up in an adjustable fashion on a workbelt. User could attach to a smaller set of tools than on a typical bulky workbelt.

Generally speaking this mount is negligible, in comparison with the adjustable backlashless pivot, but more about it later)))

Setting aside personal preferences about carry options, this looks like an invitation to get mugged for your expensive knife.

Sorry, may be I can't translate correctly...
How?

Because instead of being discreetly clipped inside your pocket, with most of the knife hidden from view, the entire knife is hanging on your belt for everyone to see.

I guess if you're wearing a long enough shirt or jacket, it might cover it up. But it still sounds a bit like wearing an expensive watch in a bad neighborhood and hoping your sleeve keeps it concealed; it's just not something I'd consider doing in the first place.

I just wear a t-shirt without tucking it into my jeans...
In any case, until you try - you don’t understand - it’s convenient or not)))

PS: Yeah, I haven’t considered my knives as expensive toys for a long time. ;)

If i want to carry my knife on my belt, I'd want it in line with my belt, not in that awkward position between my waist and my pocket where it can snag on everything from my watchband to the hem of my shirt to the object I happen to be passing (which might include another person) to the seat-belt of my automobile. I carry my multitool (a modified MP400 now) clipped to by belt near my rear right pocket to avoid hitting my elbow or other things that pass by my side and it is easily concealed by an untucked shirt if necessary. I carry pocket knives in my pocket so that they are fully conceal and not in the way of catching on things.
A pocket-clip provides a platform that can, when executed properly, avoid the hot-spot that a protruding pillar like this would create. In addition, the clip is one less accessory than a belt/band clip + attached pillar.

This is a reverse of the 'button-hole' attachment for a number of fixed-blade sheaths - the sheaths have an opening through which a peg/button can attach for carry. I am sure it will work for some people. It seems like a good option for 'phone' cases/holsters. But I wouldn't want it on my knives. *shrug* Thanks for sharing!

Honestly, in these pictures it looks like you simply switched the pocket-clip to the other side and clipped it to the coin/key pocket - the positioning is roughly identical, and the clip would then not be under the hand if the point is to eliminate that as a hot-spot. I have tried this with pocket-knives before and found it obnoxious. But if it works for you, then

Abstract RU 2709278 C1
FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fastening axis for connection of elements movable relative to each other. Axle comprises two cylindrical bushings with axial bores and threaded fastener with external thread. Each bushing has on its outer surface at one end at least one protrusion directed away from the sleeve axis. First bushing has an internal thread for connection with a threaded fastening element. Second bushing has internal thread. First bushing has also external thread for connection with internal thread of the second bushing and has at least one through lengthwise slot, which is directed along the axis and is opened from the free end side. On the external surface the threaded fastening element has an annular projection with diameter increasing in direction from the thread.

EFFECT: as a result, there are no play between movable relative to each other elements and spontaneous unwinding of fastening axle elements is eliminated.

I have made a number of these types of clips for radios and phones since they are hard to find now days. I not opposed to use on knives.

Would be too scared of my knife falling out...Id be checking my pocket every 5 seconds...

Then I'd get complacent, not check for a day and probably drop it knowing my luck
