We only have a couple pawn shops where I live, but they seem to do a good volume. So every once in awhile, I will stop in to see what new goodies they have in the knife case...

Last week I stopped on my way to work, and on one of the shelves mixed in with other stuff, I spotted an OldTimer sheath. I didn't have great expectations, as usually when I take a knife out of the sheath, they have the tips broken off, or someone took a bench grinder to the blade.

This one surprised me. It shows honest use and age. The blade is still tight and locks up very nicely... All for the whopping price of $10 :D
So, here is my latest addition of U.S Schrade 1095 goodness.

That is a great looking knife! Enjoy that bad boy!

Very nice find. Used to have one a long time ago. Nice patina on the blade also.

Nice snag. One of my all time favorites.
You lucky dog.

Great find, it looks like the knife and sheath have been a good setup for someone for a long time.

$10 ? Awesome deal!

Thanks all. Over the years, I have been very lucky at this particular shop, and have managed to find probably 7 or 8 old Schrades.
I have only found a couple Case knives there, but those have all been used and abused. I don't do it with n.i.b knives, but ones like this, I always wonder where it's been, and what it has been used for. Someone has some memories with this knife....

I've gotten to know the people at this particular shop, and we have talked about how these knives end up there. Sadly, some are older folks that need the money, but often times the knives have been passed down, and the kids don't want it. They just want quick cash for whatever reason.

I never find gems like that!

When ever I stop into any Pawn Shop it is all mall ninja stuff for $20
