A pawn shop rescue....

That's a real nice knife Mike, I recently sold an absolutely dead MINT one of those a short while ago ( to pay for other incoming knives lol ), and I can vouch that these are probably the most underrated knives! - absolute sweetheart of a knife - well done, AND you got the Sheath as well, man that's got to be one of the best deals I have seen in quite some time!
The blade looks fairly full, good on you Mike!

Thanks all. Over the years, I have been very lucky at this particular shop, and have managed to find probably 7 or 8 old Schrades.
I have only found a couple Case knives there, but those have all been used and abused. I don't do it with n.i.b knives, but ones like this, I always wonder where it's been, and what it has been used for. Someone has some memories with this knife....

I've gotten to know the people at this particular shop, and we have talked about how these knives end up there. Sadly, some are older folks that need the money, but often times the knives have been passed down, and the kids don't want it. They just want quick cash for whatever reason.

Probably just to upgrade to the latest iphone.

Nice find, saving that quality knife from just being forgotten on a shelf.

I had the pleasure of coonfingering that very knife!!...no amount of bribery or corruption would let me take it home as he was kinda smitten with it ( dunno why???)...I will get my mitts on one,one day.....great score Mike... FES

Nice find and rescue, Mike.

It is sad how some of them get there, but then nice that they get to go to your home and live in your collection.

I wonder if the pawn shop folks think the patina is a detracting feature, whereas many of us like a nice patina.

best

Good save, I had a scrimshawed version of that knife, gave it to a friend who was an iron worker and had lost it while they were pouring the concrete decking below him, once it hit the wet cement, it was gone, there was no stopping the poor tool he could climb down and dig though the hundreds of yards of wet cement that had been pumped on top.

So I felt bad and gave mine to replace his, rotten SOB put the knife and sheath in his cabinet to keep as a safe queen and bought a $20 Chinese knock off to use instead, I love my buddy, been friends for nearly 36 years but I wish I hadn't given him that knife... :( ;)

It is. They are like a liner lock on steroids

Yep... Bought the sheath, and they threw in a free knife :D

LOL... :D
You are going to take me to this pawn shop when I come to visit, right?
:D

what. a. find...

awesome luck. That knife looks like it is in fantastic shape. finds like these make me wish I had pawn shops nearby. :D

Am I the only one thinking that GEC could make a lot of us happy by making a new version of this knife?

Great find. I always like stopping in our local pawn shop. My wife gets on me saying I never buy anything in there so why do I stop. I tell her that the pawn shop is not like going into wally world. I'm looking for a "Find".
