A perhaps timely reminder to long time members and new folks.

Mr. France is an unhappy soul, and to pick on a woman just shows he's not a "man" in any definition of such. I have relatives in France, and if he needs adjusting, that can be arranged, since several cousins are LEOs over there, and they aren't exactly on the straight and narrow; every once in awhile, they may stray "from the path", to right a wrong.

Auntie will find peace, because that is what she does, I think many of us here though, find it a little bit harder to forgive. I feel sorry for the poor soul if he decides to come stateside and attempt to physically hurt auntie or Bawanna, because he will be just asking for a "world of hurt", which I am sure several BF buddies here would love to attend a "ass whupping" event.

Put me on the list.

Auntie has treated me like family, the best of character. Any hostility directed to Auntie will be perceived as a threat on HI, and blade forums. As I am a member of the forum, and subscribe to HI, its quite easy to conclude that a attack on Auntie is a direct threat on myself, and ourselves.

I agree with the notion that this person is a plant. Their argument is feeble, they came here with the intent of disruption. Its idiotic actions like this that cause all the red tape in the world.

I will also send $25 like Brother Bawanna, even though I am currently unemployed. Maybe if enough of us pitch in, Auntie can afford to add/edit a TOS check box to all orders signifying the purchaser is aware of the measuring technique utilized, or some similar system.

Hey Bawanna. Bawanna. Hey. Hey Bawanna, guess what day it is?

He didn't order 12 Sirupatis. He ordered a 12" Sirupati, which in HI lingo means 12" OAL (and it is measured in a straight line, from tip to pommel). The guy thought it was a 12" blade, which would have made the OAL about 18", and that's why he was upset. Although the real reason he was upset was undoubtedly something else. Maybe he's been having a bad year, or he wasn't burped right as a baby.

Heh, gotcha. For some reason I read the original post as twelve 12 inch Sirupatis. I was like, "wow, this guy is gearing up for *something*".

Beings in business for 30 years I have wonderful HI knife collectors from France and they are wonderful folks! Now and then we have difficult person to deal with.
Hope all works out fine with Karmic deal.
I thank you all for your supports and love to Hi and Kamis
Thank you for all you do with your business. Your products are awesome, but I think that it is the way you run your business that had fueled my addiction to HI blades.

I purchased my first one this spring and already I could not tell you how many I own without doing some digging. Please keep up the good work and karma will find this guy (and I would love to see the video of what happens when it does)

$25.00 also inbound from me. Use it as you will.

I'm working my way, day by day, through a little book of daily thoughts by Sogyal Rinpoche. It's called "Glimpse after Glimpse." I'm up to June 19th now, which means I haven't been terribly diligent at looking at it every day.

Anyway, for the 19th the Rinpoche starts with:

"Whatever you do, don't shut off your pain; accept your pain and remain vulnerable. However desperate you become, accept your pain as it is, because it is in fact trying to hand you a priceless gift..."

Knowing that situations of this nature cause Ms. Yangdu pain, I pray that she can skillfully discover the gifts.

Venturing a guess, this individual ordered the knife with the intent of causing a problem or looking for an argument. Ms. Yangdu is the best-and HI's products are superb. No need to worry about the likes of this troublemaker.

I appreciate Bawanna and Ms. Yangdu taking the high road by not posting the info needed for a forum war against this person.
That shows good character (perhaps more than I would have in similar situation).

If, however, one of us happens to find a YouTube review or a post on another forum by this person about this situation, I think decorum should be tossed out the window.

"someone once said here that france is a great country, as long as you do not have to deal with the people. another once said we should build a 100 metre high wall around the country and then fill it with water. figuratively of course as there are lots of parts over 100 metres elevation. it would be difficult to build a 4100 metre high wall to get all of it submerged. to get paris, for instance, you'd need about a 200 meter wall, which would get most of western france. the eastern part is a lot higher & mountainous and the people are a lot nicer, in general, so we could let them join italy or austria, and maybe the swiss would put up with a few. the swiss don't take any BS. "

Sounds like a wonderful playground for the moat monsters though. Plenty of room to exercise and what not.

It's tough to stay on the high road sometimes, it really is. In this case I tried to be diplomatic which only made him even angrier and intensified his meanness and threats.

I agree we should be vigilant in watching for any youtube entry. Then we can make respectful but honest comments outing him as the liar that he really is.

Yangdu has been considering getting on youtube of late. Pondering it. Lots of business's do now days.
I don't youtube very much but I'll be checking for Mr France regulary.

"Hey Bawanna. Bawanna. Hey. Hey Bawanna, guess what day it is?"

It's Wednesday on my calendar. 2 more days till Friday and the weekend. I like the weekend.

I love your far reach. I do think that this guy needs some "International Love" :)

On a more constructive note: I would love to see Yangdu or HI in general on Youtube.

It would be my first 'Subscribe'!

edit: Why don't we all post some HI khuk reviews on youtube?

It's about a singular person, not what ethnic group he belongs to.

Bawanna, post a big smiley face. He'll grind his teeth off.

I don't know how to do the smiley face thing but I closed each email with Have a nice Day, or Have a Wonderful Day.

Sometimes trying to be pleasant really infuriates this type.

Agree it not an ethnic group, we got some of the same type right here at home, course they might have been from there originally, who really knows.

I'm 1/256 French however being mainly German I can't understand how one can be so emotional about something like what I must assume is simply inadequate length compensation.

On the other hand if somebody does bad to my family or auntie it makes me a bit angry. So maybe I do understand some emotions? Nah.

It doesn't matter where he came from except for the information of shipping costs. Let's not get all Freedom Fries on this one guy who doesnt represent any of the French people who I've met.

Let him blow off steam at youtube and we give him a piece of our mind. I bet he knows he's wrong or else he'd pursue his silly complaint through PayPal or his credit card company. Teyd probably just be laughing about him. He made a mistake and is angry at himself but doesn't know how to deal with it other than lashing out at other people. Happens, but still sorry for our Auntie.

HI is so lucky to have such a great and loyal group of folks at its back. You're fantastic people.

Needless to say, count me as one of the hundreds of happy beyond belief HI customers. It's not just the knives. I've actually based a good bit of my personal business dealings on the lessons Yangdu and Uncle Bill taught me as a young man when I first joined the HI forum. They are lessons that have not only served me well from a dollars and cents respect but have also given me such peace of mind that I can really and truly go to bed at night knowing that I have done everything I can to make sure what my company is doing is "right". I've started trying to ingrain into my employees that most any business can do well, but I want to make sure we are doing good. I will be eternally indebted to Yangdu and Uncle Bill for these profound teachings on matters of character, but you know what Uncle Bill used to say, "Debt is good.";)

You cannot please everyone all the time. I have one more than one occasion run into someone like this guy. Nothing is right, nothing makes them happy, etc. Life is too short for such negative energy. Ulcers over things and dollars are unneeded pains. I've completed the work, listen to the gripe, then sent them a bill with "No Charge". One or two like to even complain about THAT and that they DESERVE a bill of no charge and now they're lucky I have done the work well and for nothing or else that wouldn't be calling me again...

I stop them right there and let them know that I will not be performing any more work for them. I just didn't want to leave a job with negativity and spite. A perfect job, done perfectly, for nothing...I am done. I have completed my part. Go, be well, find peace...but I'm not looking for any more trauma.

It's best to let this blowhard go. The Universe will work its way out. The best thing we can do is be Agents of Karma and prop Yangdu up when she is feeling down. Let her know that we love and appreciate her. Maybe go out and do some random act of good for a stranger. We can't beat this nastiness with anger, so just offset it with good.

That may very well been the most hippy-dippy post I have ever written on BFC, and I'm sure I've made a doozy one or twice:D

You probably already know by my accent. French is my mother tong. :D

So if you need a translator, count me :)

I started my HI collection in 2008 and have had nothing but respect for Yangdu and HI ever since. If me or mine were to ever need a blade to use in a life or death type of situation only Himalayan Imports would do. Thank you Auntie, you are a truly honorable person.

Notice. This is just my biased opinion and offer it merely as food for thought. After wading through this thread, this person appears to be more clever than what one might think. He has no complaint. He's a bottom feeding scammer. He ordered something and then complained like a Neanderthal suffering from a fortnights worth of constipation. The average person is not going to invest a lot of money or time into appeasing his wrath because he lives half way 'round the world and he knows he's pretty safe. He might get a new knife and get to keep the original. He might get a refund and get to keep the knife. Yes, I suppose that it might be possible for me to think all this was brought around because of simple misunderstanding because of nasty language barriers, but I gotta say "Ain't a-gonna happen!" He's read the site. He knows about Mrs. Martino's personality and what a nice person she is....he has read here just how HI measures their products. This is an international con job. Usually scammers get something for nothing simply because they act like total knee-jerk a$$holes to intimidate people who are KNOWN to be nice and perhaps overly trusting. Karma= What goes around, comes around. (Too bad his Momma didn't hit his Ctrl + Alt + Delete buttons when he was born.)
