A place for input on jgcustom knifes......

I've been following this thread and I really hoped you hadn't bailed. I was really pleased to see you respond. I think it shows solid character. Props to you, JG. I know how hard it is to bite that bullet.

Welcome back. Now that you have been "Heat Treated" here you will be a lot tougher. There are some great people here who will help you with almost anything Jim

Glad to see you back.:thumbup: If you ever get into my neck of the woods, you have a open invite to make up some Damascus.;):D

Welcome Back

With an open mind and willingness to learn, it is amazing all the lessons you find in life, and keep in mind:

Friends never flatter.

I have had my share of "friends" stop coming around the house because I told them what I thought, instead of what they wanted to hear. If they did not like the answer, they should not have asked the question.

thanks everyone. Indian george id love to take you up on that offer some time. Thanks again Bruce JG stands for josh gernegliaro. Thats me....

Its nice to see your back, I was hoping you would stay.

Josh! Great to see you posting again. Put your pics back up. Being at the beginning is nothing to be ashamed of. Your work showed promise. What else is it supposed to show at this stage?

Welcome back Josh. Now, just take advantage of all the wonderful information that is offered on this forum.

My knives aren't much to look at, but they would be a "helluva" lot worse without all the help that I have received here.

What makes it even better is to be able to eventually meet some of these guys.

Hang in there my friend. Life only gets better as time goes by.

Robert

thanks guys! I wont have anything to post for a couple of weeks. Iv moved all i had and am concentrating on a new line of design. I hope to premier in 3-4 weeks with what should be a promising EDC line up. I have took on a new partner and a new out look. This merge has been another stepping stone for me to getting on the right path, and to get off the front porch!! I enjoy the good conversation with good company so im sure I will be posting on some thoughts. Thanks

Wow, that took some balls to come back and post.

Good for you.

My advice is to be open minded, but also be careful where and how you seek critique/advice.

Go to shows, find makers who's work/personality you like, and seek their help.

There are some AMAZING makers out there in this fine world.... and there are a lot of makers that really suck ass... :)

Welcome back and as I suggested in post #41, I actually list some of my works with an opening bid of $.99 to see what the perceived worth is.....

If you ever have any questions about polishing and cutting of stone, bone, mammoth tooth or ivory go ahead and contact me.

It really is true that critisim of one's work or art does drive one to find better ways or answers.

My largest leaps in my skill levels have been driven by just small concerns raised by my customers and you took a heck of a lot more "heat" than I ever did. I problaby would have melted down........

im a man of few words red rum. ill only say so much before i take a few steps back to look at the big picture to see what got me where ever im at thats not working. Yeah it was a hot fire to stand in but so is life! you just work through it like anything else i suppose.
