A Real Busse Folder, The Cubera?

Im not sure if this is the case, about the folder on ebay, but what if the person who is the original owner of this knife and the one who made the commitment with Jerry passed away. Lets assume the family who inherited the knife decided to sell it and didnt know about the original deal or if they did know would they be bound by the same deal? What would be the protocal to follow? Could anything be done about it? I know this is a morbid way to look at it but it is a possibility.

I won't post all my graphic, drunken opinions on this colossal event if Jerry sends me a Busse Combat folder.;):D

As a member here for over 10 years I can state my opinion just as well as anybody else. If I disagree with somebody thats my right as a member here. In my world, a man who doesn't stand up for what they believe is right isn't much of a man. I've never been known to be one that plays well with others;)

that the knife is still under the "no resale no public images to be posted" protocol is confirmed in this thread:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=665999

I wouldn't blame someone for selling it if they didn't know about the original terms, but I'd certainly prefer it if they stuck to them once they learned of them.

Read the words of the thread very carefully. I think the words were very carefully crafted. And deserve to be appreciated as such.
I'd say that the posts in the thread above confirm very little.

My read on them is:

- The shop staff don't know about them
- Jerry elects not to comment further at this time
- Jerry STILL respects the HOGS who have handled a cubera AND the "few who own" as "Men of Honor". Its not clear to me if the aforementioned hogs and "the few who own" are the same set of people, possibly with an overlap (can't recall the correct set theory word intersection?, union?)
- Jerry is confident that the seller has not posted on the BF or Busse forum
- Jerry has reason to believe more of such blades exist and will probably appear on the 'Bay

He certainly does not confirm that the embargo is still in place.
He certainly does not deny paternity.

He certainly does not clarify much.

Has Jerry ever made a hollow ground knife???? ...Um, I think that you need another cup of coffee! ;):D

Here's one:

Now that is one nice bottle cap collection! ;)

As the "Shop Staff".......

I have no comment...because this so called "prototype" to me does not exist...because I have never seen it..

However I think people that go back on a agreement ...are really sad people and well....NON TRUST WORTHY...

and since I am "Shop Staff" feel free to e-mail someone:):)

confirmation that the one on ebay is one of the prototypes and that jerry is against them being on ebay (note the thumbsdown):
For those of you bidding. Know this. There are more where this came from, and from what I understand, they too will be on EBAY. :thumbdn:

Jerry

confirmation that jerry appreciates those who have them, and by inference, those who have them who are not selling them on ebay. by showing distaste (:thumbdn:) in one and pleasure (:D) in the other, one can reasonably infer that his meaning was "those who are different then the previous)

To those many HOGs who have held, fondled, and the few who own an actual Cubera prototype, I continue to salute you for being Men Of Honor.

Let's Drink!

Jerry :D

I read the posts very carefully.

jerry's description and wishes for them to be kept secret here:

Yes Virginia, there is a Busse Combat folder . . . .

The single greatest feature of the Busse Combat Folder is that it has been shown to have “unparalleled, proven integrity” in “LIVE” demonstrations at both BLADE West and BLADE Atlanta!!!!

What exactly is “unparalleled, proven integrity”???? Well, it’s not exactly a feature of the knife per se, but rather a feature of the men who proudly call themselves INFI HOGs. . . .

I can't remember the exact number of HOGs who have held the Busse Combat Folder prototype, operated the mechanism, and/or played with it at both BLADE Show West and BLADE Show Atlanta. But these HOGs gave their word and a handshake to keep the many unique design features confidential and I have never thought twice about that trust being broken. . . . There were no disclosures to be signed, no chance of any legal ramifications looming in the event of a broken trust, just a handshake and honor among men. The prototypes started being handed around over 3 years ago and I challenge you to find a description of them anywhere.

There are several HOGs who actually purchased some of these prototypes back then, but you will not find proof of that anywhere either. So, the “myth” of the Busse Combat folder is not really a myth, but rather a long held trust that is the stuff that legends are made of. If not for the honor and integrity of these many HOGs, there would be no speculation about the folder, no myth, no doubt, no questions. It is only the “unparalleled, proven integrity” of these many HOGs that now stands between fact and fiction.

Nuke On My Wayward HOGs!!!

If your looking for a concise statement of the rules and regulations of this gentlements agreement, you probably won't find one. I don't think jerry has ever in complete exactness posted the sentence "do not take a photo of the folder prototype and post them on the internet." However, that sentences meaning is, to me, implied in what jerry has said. saying "he only said a description of the blades mechanisms - he never said anything about profile photo's" is a way of looking for loopholes, trying to push the boundaries of the agreement.

If you think that's okay, that that isn't breaking the trust, that's yours to beleive. I don't believe it's right in theory, grammatical analysis, or moral practice.

Andy,

I assure you that Jerry did not do this and it is not a "marketing " thing in "Busse Land"

and well... that is all I have to say about this...cause I am kinda sad that you would think such a thing...:(

and to all of YOU that are laying the smack down on moonwilson...

STOP IT...everyone is allowed to have a opinion...

so at that note I drink a Coor's Light because it has been a very long day...

It is only Wednesday:thumbup:

Howdy all, I didn't mean to infer that I thought that Jerry put somebody up to posting the knife on Ebay. I was just sort of "pie in the sky" thinking. Everybody knows he's a stand-up guy. But one never knows what's going on inside the Boss's head. Since Jerry posted "no comment" about the matter, rather than "that knife was not made by us" or "that knife should not be for sale, I am irritated about this" I figured speculation could be indulged in.

I would never intentionally call Jerry, or anyone else at Busse Combat's motivations into question, nor do I ever mean disrespect. As always, I am always very much in Busse's corner. I don't mind getting "the smack laid down on me". I can see how my comments could have been interpreted in a different spirit than I meant them. It's all in good fun here, at least from my end.

I just try to get inside Jerry's head sometimes. The way Busse does things often seems weird, but upon reflection, seems brilliant. Very unpredictable and original. That's a big part of what makes this forum so much fun- you never know what's going to happen next.

The seller says in the listing that he received the knife directly from Jerry.

Amy, this'll die down in about 8 days, 20 hours. :p

And then start back up when "Mr. Honorless" lists the next one... :D
