First off, hello and wish you the best.
I just came back to the forum after 2 or 3 years away. A lot of the good, "old" folk still around and some fine new ones too. I think it's just the nature of those who love those old fashioned, "folksy" knives.

Someone made the folksy comment a few years back (in another sub-forum I think, but don't quote me) and we latched onto it cause it does describe us a bit.
Of course, over your way you got some down home tradition. Northwastern NC is some beautiful country. Spent 5 years, okay the family spent 5 years at Fort Bragg, I was in the Sinai for one year of it. Nice around there too, but I love the mountain areas of anywhere much better. (My momma was born in a cabin in Morgan County, KY so it must be the hillbilly blood in me, even if I was raised on a farm in Southern Ohio.

)
I like looking at the customs just fine and wouldn't mind one or two, but probably won't ever happen. But I find the look of a good, carried Case, Old Timer (the real ones) or the like to really be something special. There's something about a knife that is carried foremost as a tool and steady companion that just shines. Kind of like a man's dog, his favorite pipe, or a trail worn sidearm that may show the miles, but is an intimate part of the person carrying it..
Settle in and enjoy.
