OK, I am back...... About the only thing I am comfortable talking about is the Reinhart Becker Kukri ........We had initially planned on taking some 5/16 A2 that was available and in stock and do a limited collectors run to start with and then transition to thinner stock.......I am always excited about A2 and I have been known to favor heavy choppers so, I climbed on board that train and was enthusiastically pulling the whistle thingamabob......... It took a while to recontact reality, Hank's original intent, etc......... the original Blackjack version is one of the scariest blades I have ever swung.....One of it's finest features is the balance.......5/16ths was gonna screw that up big time....... Sooooooo...... We are gonna do it in.188 which is pretty close to the original and we can adjust grind height to dial it in....... I am super relieved about this..... I really have no stomach for meeting Hank in the hereafter and trying to explain screwing his design up....... It would be painful in more ways than one.........
Tooj and I worked on a redesign of one of the current line up....... Methinks you guys will like it a lot........ We discussed two new guys that I am REAL excited about..... One is a project that I have been trying to sell John Stitt on for several years.....Persistence and his new found appreciation for WWII blades finally wore him down.....YAY........The fourth project is a very serendipitous happenstance and as a knife nut it almost brought tears to my eyes...... More on that much later...... We are talking a couple of years, dammit....... Yeh, I AM pumped about this week.....Really pumped.....More tomorrow......It is WAAAY past o wine thirty in the Becker household And the old codger needs his rest......Talk to you in the morning.....
