Ok, Gang.

I have just spent a considerable amount of time reading the "religion" post, and most of it is FULL of BS.

I'm not going to get into a lengthy dissertation here, mainly because it's way past my bedtime, and the drive to work tomorrow is gonna be miserable due to heavy snowfall. So, I'm going to say this:

I personally think Paracelsus is doing a FINE job moderating this forum. I also agree with Spark, that more "self" moderation is needed by us ALL. Paracelsus has stated MANY times , that he his merely trying to do what he thinks is the right thing. We all may not agree with him all the time, but he IS the moderator here, and has been given the responsibility by Mike & Spark to do the job as he sees fit. Cry if you must, but try to put yourself in his shoes, and think what you would do as moderator here.

Paracelsus, my hat is off to you. Please keep up the good work, and you have my full support in your efforts. thank you!!!

Ok...thats just my opinion, yours may vary.

Mike

I'd not only give Paracalsus a vote of confidence, I'll buy him lunch and get him drunk when I run into him at a show. If anything, Para is a Knifeknut Supreme and while not everyone understands his humor, we can all understand his love of knives.

HEATHEN and proud of it!

I agree that Para is doing an exemplary job, and should be commended for that. I may not always agree with him, but I admire his convictions and his sincere attempts to do the right thing every time. Keep up the good work Para!

I agree 100%. Para is a great moderator, always quick to point out how we could fix things ourselves, and keen to let us try....

Keep up the good work

Good Evening,
It is I, the great and powerful myself.

Due to the fact that I had to have a temporary restraining order issued against Parcelockin'bastid, (he wants me, you know) I'll refrain from patting him on the back, since he'd most likely take that as an invitation to start stalking me again.

But, I gotta say, this particular forum is by far, the most difficult to have to moderate, and he's doing better than I could. In fact, he out and out told me that I'm too crazy to moderate here.
There was no "lol" or ";-)" after he said that.
It's what he believes.

Anyways, I had something else to say here, but I see that what I was gonna say wouldn't make sense at this particular juncture, so I'll just non chalantly divert your attention by saying,
LOOK! OVER THERE! A BABY WOLF!
Anonymously yours,

PS - To the whiny bastid at the obnoxious thread who complained about a moderator with a really long signature....
I surely hope this is more acceptable to you, Oh Golly, Yes!
If Not, please inform me so I can ratify it to your complete and utter satisfaction, whoop-dee-doo, etc.

I think Para's doing an OK job too and doesn't deserve most of the flak slung his way. Para-lovin'-bastid me.

I think I must have missed the thread in question. I think I will make it a point to continue to miss it.

Paracelsus is doing a great job, I don't know what he could be doing better.

Mike

The General Forum is by far the toughest one.
What is reasonable in the eyes of some of us 8000 will be unreasonable to others. I feel that Para has done a good job in keeping things civil and on track here.

Yup. I think Paracelsus needs our support. I vote yez for the thread lockin' bastid. And I'm wondering why some people have to just keep beatin' a dead horse.

I started a thread similar to this one not too far back, and I will voice my opinion again. Paracelsus did not jump at the opportunity to moderate this forum. He was a little hesitant but did so anyway, for US. He is doing a KICK A$$!! job! There are over 8000 members here, a lot of which are new, a lot are not yet they still don't follow the rules. And then there are those that just make some mistakes. Para has to deal with it all. There are bound to be some disagreements. Para, you crazy thread lockin' bastid, you are doing a superb, almost flawless job of moderating this forum. KEEP UP the good work.

Besides the fact that Para is a meddling bastid he is still doing a great job keeping the General Forum chugging along. maybe if the "Pity Poster's" were to think before crying to the whole general population on here then idiotic time consuming threads could be avoided.

i agree, para is doing a hell of a job.especially with all the bullsit that gets flung in here.keep up the good work, para.

Indeed, our mutual friend Paracelsus remains "on point."

I'd like to point out also that Para can not always be expected to be an objective or impartial moderator. After all, before he was ever asked to assume his current responsibilities he was a member, just like anyone else. As a bona-fide knife-knut, he's entitled to his opinions too.

Paracelsus has my FULL support.
In all cases I was somehow engaged, he found the "right tone" to tell the "right things".

Paracelsus has our support as he is very level headed and he saves us a lot of time. In fact I am announcing today a special deal for ALL moderators who have helped us this past year.

Para is doing a great job. He takes his job to heart!
The religion post had to be a hard one.
I like both Mark and Para so I can see that both men have there convictions. I think we all a "cross" of some type to lean upon.

Happy holidays bastids

Happy Holidays!

Almost a century and a half ago, Senator Stephen Douglas told Abraham Lincoln, who had just defeated him for the presidency, "Partisan feeling must yield to patriotism. I'm with you, Mr. President, and God bless you."

Well, in that same spirit, I say to moderator-elect Paracelsus that what remains partisan rancor must now be put aside, and may God bless his stewardship of this forum.

I also accept my responsibility, which I will discharge unconditionally, to honor the new moderator and do everything possible to help him bring bladeforums.com together in fulfillment of the great vision that our FAQs affirm and defend.

This has been an extraordinary election. But in one of God's unforeseen paths, this belatedly broken impasse can point us all to a new common ground, for its very closeness can serve to remind us that we are one people
with a shared history and a shared destiny.

Indeed, that history gives us many examples of contests as hotly debated, as fiercely fought, with their own challenges to the popular will.

Other disputes have dragged on for weeks before reaching resolution. And each time, both the victor and the vanquished have accepted the result peacefully and in the spirit of reconciliation.

So let it be with us.

And I say to our fellow members of the world community, let no one see this contest as a sign of Bladeforums.com weakness. The strength of our forum is shown most clearly through the difficulties it can overcome.

Some have expressed concern that the unusual nature of this election might hamper the next moderator in the conduct of his office. I do not believe it need be so.

Moderator-elect Paracelsus inherits a forum whose members will be ready to assist him in the conduct of his large responsibilities.

I personally will be at his disposal, and I call on all members to unite behind our new moderator.

This is Bladeforums.com. Just as we fight hard when the stakes are high, we close ranks and come together when the contest is done.

And while there will be time enough to debate our continuing differences, now is the time to recognize that that which unites us is greater than that which divides us.

While we yet hold and do not yield our opposing beliefs, there is a higher duty than the one we owe to political party. This is Bladeforums.com and we put forum before party. We will stand together behind our new moderator.

Now the political struggle is over and we turn again to the unending struggle for the common good of all knife enthusiasts and for those multitudes around the world who look to us for leadership in the causes of freedom and cutlery knowledge.

Thank you and good night, and God bless Bladeforums.com.
