Photos A Walk in Nature

Hit the trails again today. This time around an hour away for Jumpingpound Trail.

Had the parking lot to ourselves when we arrived and didn’t run into any other people on the trail. A rarity these days, and we really enjoyed it.

Lambsfoot and Cowbell accompanied us.

Obligatory trail selfie ;)

Was a nice trail, plenty of woods, and the occasional break in a meadow and some nice views.

At one point we came around a corner and I felt something watching us…

We stared each other down for a while, then she went one way and we went the other :)

Gave myself a mild heart attack spooking some grouse on the trail. You don’t see the little guys until you’re right on top of ‘em!

Back to the car for lunch. Sandwich didn’t get too squished in the backpack :)

And back in town we stopped at the ice cream shop for affagatos (vanilla ice cream and espresso)!

Thanks for coming along :)
It looks like you had a great day out Mike 🙂 Magnificent scenery, perfectly captured 😎🙂👍

Take the saw the saw the knife and a bantam.

It weighs nothing, opens cans and beers and gives you another blade to use.

Not sure what the Victorinox equivalent would be - they are the same length as my Fieldmaster. I think I might bring 2 with me next time I go camping - the extra one to give away if the opportunity presents itself.

Not exactly a hike. Sky High Adventure in Ellicotville, NY. (Nancy, Me, Serena, granddaughter, new bo..Nick)
Such a pity, they ran out of gear, so I had to stay on the ground.

Brings back memory’s,we did that stuff for free in the army.
we where 16/17 years old here on the commando confidence course down in Plymouth.
no safety harness and I don’t like heights, but your more scared of your sergeant than the fall 🤣🤣🤣

I am the wide eyed blonde haired one sitting at the bottom, trying to hide the pain of going through the net legs either side of a knot, ouch.

Enjoying the good vibes , the nature and knives of Porch dwellers 👍😎

Fresh pics of our latest adventure, likely our last one together for a little while as Diana will have surgery in the near future

I decided to bring to this adventure none other that our BF 2019 knife … it is called
“Sailor’s Rope Knife” after all 😁

Disclaimer: Forum knife is for photo purposes ONLY lol and then goes back into a waterproof bag ( unless we get some SPAM 😉) … now, if you guess what I have in my pocket as a user the forum knife is yours …. JUST KIDDING OK 😁

Fresh pics from about an hour ago.
I got to finish this post and go inside Serena’s belly before the mosquitoes 🦟 drain any more blood from me.

Great photos. Prayers for your wife's full recovery.

Hanging out this weekend at Manitou Beach (the Dead Sea of Canada).

It’s a little cool today to be swimming, but we have been enjoying floating in the mineral pools at the hotel.

Wandering the area, came across a nice park that had a labyrinth.

And had to accept the challenge from Christina at mini golf. I won by one stroke ;)

To heck with the weather…. Still had to enjoy ice cream on the beach

I am looking forward to hearing about the trip you guys take every year to celebrate her complete cure.
Gracias amigo 👍😊
That is one of my favorite knives all around.

Diana is in our prayers always Dan as are you and as Tom said - here's to celebrating the happy end of this journey but living life fully along the way.
Thank you so much Dwight !

Thank you 😊 I certainly treasure the BF sailors knife very much. I am very fortunate I was allowed to purchase one

Thank you so much ! It’s encouraging to know that folks think and pray for your loved ones 👍
Always with you D&D.

Might need to show you more of this new one when I come visit.

Very cool Mike 👍
I didn’t know we have our own version of the dead sea 👍
(Oh, … and we all know Christina just did not want to hurt your ego at the mini ⛳😄)

Ok, time to show and tell my real edc for the trip
Sorry folks, I am not very original 😎

The winds favoured Serena and blew from the opposite of their usual predominant direction allowing us to sail this part.

Tomorrow it’s predicted to change back to the predominant SW direction so we hope to just sail back ( with no need for fosil 🦕 fuel ⛽️)

The river was low enough to cross out onto a narrow island and from there get out on rocks almost halfway across one of the 2 channels there. I had fun going up and down steep, slippery banks, across algae-covered rocks, through neck-high weeds, and across across huge unstable piles of driftwood - more of an obstacle course than a walk. If I had been prepared to wade it would have been a lot easier 🤣:D.
