Mount Orford Qc
I am 99% sure I visited there as a child! :D

We had friends who owned a property on Lake Memphremagog (just north of Georgeville), and for a number of years we would spend a week or so each summer vacationing there. One of those years we took the ski lifts up to the top of a nearby mountain.

It has been many, many years, but it has to be the same place, I imagine.

Going back to Lake Memphremagog is definitely on my list of things I would love to do some day.

Back then you didn’t need a passport to cross the border. The property they owned was an old youth camp, I believe. There was a main house/lodge, and a few smaller cabins. There was also a dock, boathouse, and diving raft. I spent a lot of time out on the lake in a canoe and small sailboat.

Mount orford is the most popular so you are pobably right. there is also mount owls head around the Memphremagog. Both are very nice place to go

I wish I could join you all for a walk about. There are some treasure spots where you all are.

I was feeling the same way Ray looking at the amazing trails/photos in the last few posts 😍.

The closest for me to get to some of those really "nice treasure spots" ( meaning hilly terrain and mountains for me :) ) would be to drive a couple hours either to the Adirondacks in Northern New York or to Quebec.
North of Ottawa, in Gatineau, there are some nice spots as well to go hiking which is closer for us actually.

You live in a beautiful area by the ocean which I'll say is a treasure spot as well ... especially if one likes sailing :)β›΅

As we walk our local trails I feel like I am running out of photo ops in my area lol :)
That beaver 🦫 chewed up tree saved the day on my last post :D

Plotting my next getaway, in a couple of weeks if the weather cooperates:

I plan to take my bike by car to Sycamore landing, leave my car there, bike about 35 miles to just past Harpers Ferry, and camp. The next morning I hope to walk up the ridge to Maryland Heights to get the famous view of the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, then walk down into Harpers Ferry and do the tourist thing and maybe get something to eat. After that I will bike back down the canal until I get tired of it and camp night 2. Day 3 I will bike back to my car, and maybe fish a while before going home.

All of this itinerary is subject to change based on whim.

I still need to decide which knife or knives will accompany my Okapi on the trip:

The practical choice would be one of the Vics but I am drawn to the camper.
