Photos A Walk in Nature

That all came together perfectly Dan. Very happy for you and Diana. You started your summer with a couple of hearty splashes.
Glad you had a helping hand with the 2nd splash. Oh - and I'm glad I bought a new tent. ;)

I dropped my glasses 👓 inside the lock at Jones Falls 🤪 and they went all the way to the bottom 😩
Evan was able to drain it completely after we had crossed and brought them to me with a big smile 😊 He is my hero !!! 😎

Well, good night folks 🤓💤
Glad y'all are out and about. Hope Diana continues to do well 🤞
Service above and beyond 👍👍👍 Gotta love Canadians 🥰

Thank you for kind words my friends !
Cell signal is very spotty here and I have been fighting to even read a page on the Porch for the past hour here inside “Serena’s” belly 😃

Seems I got some signal now 👍

We had a great day, travelled 32 km, went through several locks, navigated many small lakes and a couple of big ones too, dodged a nasty thunderstorm, and caught some fish too 😎

Tonight we moored at Colonel By Island.
Here is a pic as we were wrapping up the day ( i owe a knife pic today 😊)

I was just reading about that nasty thunderstorm on the CBC website. You were very lucky to have dodged it!! Nice pictures!

Yes, we were very fortunate indeed !
As we read the news today about the devastation caused by this deadly storm we are certainly feeling very grateful to have gone through it without serious consequences

We arrived yesterday at Colonel By Island about 30 min before the storm hit.
The winds were already picking up speed when we got there.
Soon after, while walking around the island we got the severe weather alert on our phones. Boaters that were coming in to dock showed us the radar map and the massive storm approaching

We closed Serena’s hatches and took shelter

This is how it looked and sounded

The storm was short lived in our area.
We took a walk around the island afterwards
This cottage ( off limit to the public ) has been designated as a historic building.

Today as we started our return trip we had some drizzle on and off so we had to hunker down inside Serena
We still made good progress and should be wrapping up our trip ( about 100 km totsl ) tomorrow afternoon

Glad you dodged that storm, and it was especially extra nasty. Lots of damage in Ottawa with a couple deaths.
