The drive was to go see Hermiston where Rose's family homesteaded when they came out on the Oregon trail. It was a 650 mile loop all in Oregon. We went through coastal rainforest, high mountain ponderosa, high desert, canyon lands, rolling grasslands and Columbia River gorge. We found agates in the Ochoco National Forrest and jasper at the legendary John Day river. I'd never seen the wind farms with their 650' tall wind turbines before. It was startling how suddenly things changed from one clime to another. Turn a corner and you go from desert to forest, at another time we climbed up out of a ravine to suddenly be in wide open grasslands.

Awesome scenery

Yesterday morning I was sitting under our deck on the patio which is about twenty feet from where the ground begins to slope down to the lake. When I looked up from my phone I noticed I was under surveillance! Twenty feet away and I didn’t hear her walk up or walk away. If I was a hunter…I’d be a lousy one for sure! 🤣

She showed up again today while I was talking my picture for the Case thread. 😊
