My pleasure. With all the rage with the super steels, a lot of these long running carbon tool steels still do the job and do it well. I personally like A2 as an outdoor knife working steel. For what most use their knives for, it gets the job done. If you don't mind the staining and patina, A2 is an excellent choice.

I agree some of the older steels get overlooked with all the new super steels. Iv always been fond of some good 1095 or for a folder bucks 420hc or the like. I guess I just prefer ease of maintenance and sharpening over super edge holding. That being said iv not tried a2 yet but I'm very excited to get my knife and see how it performs. If I can maintain it and sharpen it with simple stones and household items after it holds an edge fairly well I'll be a happy man
