Acrylics and cell mates.

Jon, those are prime. I'm especially a fan of the kryptonite and coffehouse, for their depth of color and pattern.

Thanks Jeff, the green especially has some serious depth for sure.

I honestly didn't even know that they made acrylic 85's till I found that coffeehouse, I believe they made a third in neon blue acrylic. That is my next mission :)

Fine 66 that, notice how low the tangs are set, the Church Glass (Stained Glass??) is an admirable acrylic.

That's Sea Glass acrylic. The low tangs make this one very pocket friendly. It was my First GEC and still a favorite.

I'm a bit late to this party but here are my celluloid knives. From top: Federal, Syracuse, Kent, Schrade Cut. Co.

Celluloid.jpg

The Syracuse has the shimmery pearlescent look but it's hard to pick up from the angle of the picture. The Schrade is so-called "French ivory" that has lines to mimic the look of ivory. Again, not shown well from this angle and lighting.

Love the look of these acrylics. I need to get one soon. I´m wondering how it is feeling in hand. Like the "silky" delrin handles or just like plain plastic...

Let me put your mind at rest Andi, the delrin feel is how GEc acrylics feel, certainly not cheap or shoddy. It's great stuff when you find one you like. The old Cell examples are more complex and varied, perhaps, but they may have the tendency to outgas - this is bad news for the knife and any others near it.

Thanks, Will

Thanks for the replie, Will!

Now I´m on the trail for a GEC acrylic.... no hurry though, due to my bet :D

Here is a new pic of the whole family of jelly beans. :D

Quite the handsome "Family Portrait" Robin" several nice examples posted by all. Quite a few I have not seen before.
This one the only one I have at present Marshall-Wells Cracked Ice Pen. Pretty sure it is celluloid, Iknow it is old but
have no way to date it.

Goodness, just now seeing this thread! I have a few, sorry bout the quick and dirty shots.

This just arrived today. I believe it is Celluloid, showing a bit a shrinkage (not much) against the bolsters. But regardless, I like the fake tortoiseshell. A Schrade Cutco EO Teardrop Jack. Photo doesn't really show the depth, or glint of gold coming in from behind. I'll have to retake in daylight.

Wow, there really are some fantastic looking acrylics in this thread. Here's some more recent acquisitions.

I'm not sure if carbon fiber counts, but I recently had these 4 knives customized by Esnyx.

Beautiful rich colours on that Teardrop, suits the knife completely. Wonder if it is a re-handle job? Excellent knife.

draggat Really like that green Conductor, smart. I reckon those other synths are more than welcome here too:D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will
