Adopt a Fiddleback

Congrats!

Michael

Great news Luke!

Good news Imari55 wishing you all the very best to you and your family from over here in Oz.

Mick

Very happy for you and your family. That's awesome news!

Thank you all!i went in the other day and talked with the lawyer and they told me we just had to wait. I asked if they could go to the judge's office and at least find out where we were on the list. They said they would try. I got a text last night asking us to come in this morning because they were able to get a list. They only have initials on the list. We went in with no expectations, and left with amazing news!

I can share some amazing details once we actually have her. Thanks for all those who've followed this thread! I appreciate your support.

Missed out on that sweet blued runt today, but the adoption progress was well worth it. Hopefully one of these Fridays my internet will cooperate!

What you are getting is more precious than any knife--even a Fiddleback! Can't wait to learn more details!

Got news from our adoption lawyers today and the judge has demanded that the child be given a physical and that the report be on her desk by Monday. That means Tuesday our lawyers will go in and schedule a date and time for us to meet with the judge and she will share the child's name and history with us at that hearing. From that point on we can start going to the orphanage to start forming a bond with the child.

What that means is that there is still a chance to adopt a Fiddleback before I get the child! Here's to hoping tomorrow holds another Runt and that I can actually shark it! We'll see if the internet will cooperate!

Still waiting for our day in court for the judge to officially assign us our child . . . I called Tuesday and yesterday. So far no date and the lawyers said to call again this afternoon. Looks like I may experience another Fiddleback Friday before I get my baby girl! Maybe 2 adoptions in 1 day?! Come on judge, lawyers, and internet, work for me!

That's gotta be tough man. I hope it all works out sooner than later.

Keep on keeping on. Good things happen to good people. I don't know you, but from your posts, it sounds like you and your wife a have a wealth of love in your hearts. Your story is very inspiring. Thanks for sharing your endeavor and good luck with it.

Good luck to you with the adoption. My oldest daughter is adopted. We picked her up as a 2 day old baby 15 years ago. She has been a joy to our lives and certainly has blessed us in many ways. I sincerely hope all goes well for you. I am truly saddened by all the babies in the world that need loving homes and because of bureaucratic BS it is so difficult to match them with loving and sometimes desperate couples. We are all watching with interest...

Well, no Runts or other desired models in today's batch of knives for FBF, so I didn't swim . . . that being said, I just got news from the lawyers that the evaluations that were supposed to be delivered to the judge by Monday, just got there. The girl has been evaluated and now the documents show her actual name!!! We still don't have our court date, but the judge has the papers now, so hopefully next week we'll have our day in court and get to go visit our new daughter! She doesn't even know she has a family yet, but we are chomping at the bit to let her know how much we love her!

I've held back some bits of the story because we need to have her in our arms and 'officially' ours before I can share, but the details are just AWESOME . . . at least to us!

Well, it's been a big week! I got a used Fiddleback from the Flea Market and a gorgeous Bushraptor from KSF. I still lack my Runt, 2 Finger Karda, and a bigger Kitchen/backwoods knife, but I'm excited for them to make their long journey from the States to here!

That aside, we just communicated with the lawyers this afternoon and we have our audience scheduled with the judge!!!!! This Monday we go before the judge and she will give us the back story for the little girl and give us permission to start visiting her in the orphanage! We will be evaluated after 7 days and if she has taken to us during that time we get to bring her home!!! Her name means 'Hope' in English and I think that is an incredible name! We get to give her the hope of love, a family, a home, and also introduce to the love of God!

She is the personification of the love of God. I am so glad that this adoption is moving forward for you both. There are so many children in this world that need loving, caring and safe homes.

I just wanted to take a moment and share . . . yesterday we had our audience with the judge and she gave us permission to start visiting the orphanage and our daughter as of yesterday at 2pm! We spent the whole afternoon there and got to feed, change her, and put her to bed! Then we went out and celebrated by watching USA defeat Ghana!

We have to keep visiting her in the orphanage through Thursday and as long as everything goes well, we bring her home on Fiddleback Friday!!! Maybe I can score a Runt on Friday and then I will have adopted 2 in 1 day!!

And now you'll have to excuse me . . . I'm going back to playing with my little girl!

Woo hoo! Congrats, man! That sure is awesome. I trust this Friday will live on in memory, whether or not the FB Runt makes it's appearance.

With so much garbage going on in the world, it is refreshing to read such wonderful news!

Hey Luke, this is just incredible news. I am traveling on Friday, else I would shark that Runt for you if you're not available. Enjoy your bonding time with your daughter, and giver her lots of kisses for me.
