Adopt a Fiddleback

Quick update. Because today was a national holiday our sentencing has been pushed off until Monday. But, we've been allowed to bring her to our house the last 2 days and it's been awesome! She spent 7 hours with us today before we had to bring her back to the orphanage. Poor baby is so far behind in everything. It is so hard to spend a lot of time in the orphanage. It's hard to see how the kids are treated when they have adult attention, and hard to see them be so neglected period. Can't wait to rescue our little girl from this life! Monday can't come soon enough! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They have been a real encouragement!

That's gotta be tough man. I hope it all works out sooner than later.

Keep on keeping on. Good things happen to good people. I don't know you, but from your posts, it sounds like you and your wife a have a wealth of love in your hearts. Your story is very inspiring. Thanks for sharing your endeavor and good luck with it.

Josiah

Thanks Josiah for the encouraging words!

Good luck to you with the adoption. My oldest daughter is adopted. We picked her up as a 2 day old baby 15 years ago. She has been a joy to our lives and certainly has blessed us in many ways. I sincerely hope all goes well for you. I am truly saddened by all the babies in the world that need loving homes and because of bureaucratic BS it is so difficult to match them with loving and sometimes desperate couples. We are all watching with interest...

I've never understood why it is so hard to adopt. I understand being thorough and making sure children are placed in genuine loving homes, but there really are so many families that would adopt but just can't. Congrats on your daughter! We just found out that ours was left in a public park at what they guess was 2 days old. They know nothing about who the possible birth parents are.

She is the personification of the love of God. I am so glad that this adoption is moving forward for you both. There are so many children in this world that need loving, caring and safe homes.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Woo hoo! Congrats, man! That sure is awesome. I trust this Friday will live on in memory, whether or not the FB Runt makes it's appearance.

Michael

Michael, you are absolutely right! Fiddleback Runt or not, this child is far more precious!

With so much garbage going on in the world, it is refreshing to read such wonderful news!

I'm glad that our story can refreshing! It's been a long emotional journey, but worth every moment!

Awesome news Luke! I'm thrilled for you and your family and your daughter to be.

Hey Luke, this is just incredible news. I am traveling on Friday, else I would shark that Runt for you if you're not available. Enjoy your bonding time with your daughter, and giver her lots of kisses for me.

Will do!! We've been showering her with kisses! She is awesome. Very timid, but that is understandable since her whole world is being turned upside down.

Looks like today's the day for runts and 2 finger kardas. Good luck!

Glad to read about the progress here. And glad that you have gotten to spend some time with little Esperanza. It's wonderful that she will soon have a loving family.

Thanks for the encouraging words! That was a HUGE day for small knives and as a whole an incredible batch! I finally got my Runt too!

Quick Update:
We had a great week overall with the visits. Today was a bit rough to start, but by the end she perked up and we had a lot of fun. There is a cleaning lady that has loved on her since she was brought to the orphanage at 2 days old. I understand that it's difficult for her, but she's pulling extra hours to spend extra time with our baby! It makes it hard for her to want to be with us when the person that has shown her affection for so long is hanging around. But, all in all it's gone super well. Our lawyer is going first thing in the morning to the court to find out our sentencing time.

We are going to go first thing tomorrow morning again until we hear back from our lawyer. Please be praying! Thank you to everybody that's been an encouragement!

This is a cool deal to watch unfold. I'm keeping better tabs on this than I am the kc royals. Haha. Best of luck man, I can't even imagine the strength and endurance you and your wife have to possess to go through such a difficult process. I wish you the best of luck tomorrow. We are all pullin for ya.

Luke, I'm praying that this meeting with the court goes well and that this sweet little girl will be a part of your family soon.

3 sleeping daughters in the same room! Couldn't be happier! 15 days of evaluation and then they seal the deal! My wife worked real hard and came up with this announcement:

Luke - We're so happy for you all! Congrats! Tell your wife nice work on the announcement as well.

Congratulations Luke! That is a great announcement. She looks like a little bundle of joy!

Being someone who went down the adoption road I know all to well the pain and the roller coaster you are on! I do not envy where you are right now but I have tons or respect and appreciation for what you are doing and for the mission you have put yourself on! Good luck to you and all your future news!

Congratulations! Nothing better than knowing all your loved ones are safe and sound under your roof. :)

First off, I wanted to thank you all for your excitement! It's all been so surreal up until now! It was awesome when the judge looked us in the eyes and asked us if we were willing to take responsibility for this little person. My response was with great joy! She's now down for her second night sleep at home and she's taken it all in like a champ! I'm still holding back what I think are some awesome details, but I want to wait until after this evaluation period before sharing. Again, thanks to each and every one of you!

Woo hoo!! Celebrating with you tonight!
