Thanks for the input. I would always hope that you never need those services. In my experience, companies that provide the best service provide them at all levels of the organization. That's why I dig into those and the reputation they have.If warranty and service are a big issue for you and you live in the US, I'd say buy American from one of the companies with a better reputation on that front, like Protech, Kershaw / ZT, Chris Reeve, Benchmade. These companies also don't turn over their product line as quickly as some others, so you're more likely to have parts available down the road. I believe they are also some of the select few that offer blade swaps.
I have a lot of Chinese knives I really like, but they simply don't have the capacity to deal with their knives if there's an issue later on like some of the better American brands. Where they shine is in delivering an exceptional amount of precision and detail for the price. It really depends on what's the most important to you.
Thank you. The sweep of that blade is not what I was looking for.Go look at a Tactile Maverick, they offer Ti slabs
Thank you for the recommendation. I'll look into it.Check out the new Kershaw bel air. Magnacut sheepsfoot style blade like the two you looked at with crossbar lock. Just grabbed one. Liking it so far but haven’t had it long enough to comment on Kershaw Magnacut.
Please forgive my ignorance, but what are you showing me here?
I am interested, but I can't identify the make or model. It's a knife that I thought might be of interest.
Not a small knife...more like upper end of medium, lower end of large (specs say 4" blade, though it seems a little smaller to me - I can measure when I get home later)
Thank you. I think that this is a little long for my needs. It might draw some unwanted attention. It's a Reate-made Liong Nah Eraser. M390.
You've got a profile message
Oh yeah! But we all have bosses to answer to on some level. Besides, EH&S is full of sneaky little b@$t@rd$.I thought you were the boss?
My preferred dims would be close to:What blade length are you looking for? (How compact do you need your EDC to be?)
I'm intrigued. Any idea on the total width when folded? I couldn't find it.You could go with a Spyderco Yojimbo 2 and put titanium scales on it.
I've no idea the width, personally I dislike metal handlesI'm intrigued. Any idea on the total width when folded? I couldn't find it.
Ti is not important. What I don't like is aluminum. It's entirely a tactile thing for me. I have also found that in the two original choices, Ti just came with the better steels. Oh yeah, no wood either.
You're missing nothing of note.Sell some of my knifes? I think you need more coffee. hehehe
I did look at the Sebenza, but it was out of my price range (for now).
The other one that had entered the conversation throughout all this is the ZT 0770CF.You're missing nothing of note.
The protech is a great suggestion.
