I've had, used, and tinkered with a lot of knives over the years, including an absurd number of Chinese knives. The better manufacturers over there, especially WE/Civivi, Kizer, and Bestech generally do a great job. Overall, Kizer is my favorite Chinese knife company. I don't know who makes the Vosteed Knives now but at least some of the early models were made by Kizer. While I've only had three models from Vosteed, I've been happy with them (especially their little fixed blade in Nitro-V).
Warranty service is more limited with most of the Chinese brands but not entirely. For instance, WE/Civivi has stateside warranty service. A fairly well-known member of the knife community went to work for them doing that a few years back. I sent in a second-hand Civivi with lock rock last year. It came back fixed and tuned with a new lock-bar within a few weeks. (I just had to pay the shipping one way.) Otherwise, if you are handy, some of the other companies will ship replacement parts for either cheap or free.
Coincidentally, I needed a replacement clip from Kizer and replacement clip screws from Spyderco within the same year. Spyderco would only give me new screws if I bought a new clip for $8 and they charged me a few bucks for shipping from halfway across the US. Meanwhile, Kizer sent the clip for free and only asked $5 for shipping from halfway across the world. So it really does depend.
