I meant temperature, but I have heard there has been some things going on in the dark around here. Supposedly the command that we took over for had 6 females get busted having some kind of sexual contact ( a HUGE no-no), while 11 males got busted. Hmmmm.... math.... 6 females....11 males....how on earth does that work out?

Update. I managed to injure my back lifting too much weight. I'm too young for that kinda thing to be happening, so that's a little discouraging. Other than that both myself and my wife are doing alright. It's kinda rough seeing her every day at meals, and then having to part ways again, but at least I get to see her at all. Everybody else here that's married married a civilian who is back home waiting for them. I'm getting promoted on the 1st. I also hit my three year mark on the 4th. So it will no longer be LCpl Williams, but Cpl Williams. That's going to feel strange. The package made it here safely. All I can say is wow. Next thing on the agenda is get a picture up of the 7 and get my beckerhead number. I can't believe how supportive and generous you all are. Maybe some day I'll get to meet a few of you folks and shake your hands. Until next time, take care.

Glad to hear from you, and congrats on the promotion, no more Lance Corporal rollin' in the mud, but Corporal rollin' in the mud. :D

Update. Things are rapidly going downhill. We're on lockdown here. And by that I mean we're not allowed to leave the wire at all because of our MOS. Most of our liberties have been taken away, and new policies have been implemented that makes pretty much every aspect of life a difficulty out here. Which would be understandable if we we're out on convoys and what-not. But when you're locked inside the base, it's kinda crappy to remove any and all morale that still exists. Sorry if it sound like I'm b!tc#!n@. At least I still get to use the internet. I need to scan through the Becker forum, I've missed much lately.

Praying for you and your wife, brother. Anything you could use to make you time there less terrible? Just let me know. Hope you are doing well.

And hey, don't worry, B**ch away. Like I said this place and these guys are what kept me sane while I was over there. There are alot of great guys here, alot of vets too that know what its like over there. Just try to keep you chin up and if nothing else, trudge through the day with the pride of knowing you are serving the greatest country in the world. There are alot of people who wont, or cant do what you are doing. Know that you are member of an elite group in history that has had the opportunity and the pleasure to fight for their country. Know that every day you face over there brings you one day closer to being home. Take heart, brother, the end will come.

Wow. Well said, Jarodmichael.
It is the historical right of soldiers to b*tch! :D I'm sure the Roman Legionnaires bitched when they had to go to Gaul! :D

To put that in perspective, I had an employee once whose wife was in the Guard and went away for her two weeks in summer camp, leaving my employee to watch their 8 kids! [I'm sure that was one of the motivators that made her choose going into the Guard] So I see this guy in the coffee room and ask him how his wife is making out at camp. "Oh, it's just terrible -- she's having an awful time." So I'm thinking "rain", or "leaking tent" or other hardships, and ask him what the problem was. "It's her room. They put her in a room right next to the elevator! Can you believe it? She can't sleep a wink at night!"
I thought back to quivering under a folding cot as 120mm rockets and mortars landed willy-nilly all over the firebase I had been sent to, and had to have a real chuckle....
GIs can b*tch about anything!

When you get back and get the truck, let me know. The Becker's on me.

Be careful, powder dry, tomahawk sharp, and hips to the ground when the bees start buzzin'.

funny story but not so funny at the same time. glad you guys are ok. my uncle told us stories when he was in Nam. He slept under an ammo truck during and after a major convoy attack. they didnt know what they were sleeping under until one of them woke up and looked in the boxes:o

Haha. Yes "mighty nice" is one way to put it. That sort of gesture is beyond nice in my book. I'm wondering which truck I'll pick though. Been debating it with myself, whether new used, or really old and used. Oh decisions decisions.

Thank you folks for your words on my right to complain. I noticed I stopped complaining for a while and felt strange. Then I guess it all bottled up and erupted one day. Gotta work on that. Some good news though, I did get a ballpark return time. I'm being told September, which cuts my original time from 7 months down to right about 6 I think. Man...I miss Panda Express.

K-9 Handler, I saw your post in the sign up thread. I was holding off on making more posts til after I made one in there, but it was locked until now. Things are going ok in general, except they have closed half the chow halls, and cut the hours on the remaining ones. The whole camp is on fuel rationing restrictions. Different morale boosting programs have been cut, and the temperature is climbing over 120 in the shade. Summer is definitely on the horizon. As far as within my actual shop, things have gotten very bad. The other Marines in my platoon have been very supportive, but there are some senior leaders that are actually about to come under some tough questions as to why they have turned the inside of my section into a prison. I have started shrugging things off though. Only 3 months left. Deployment got shortened a bit, and after it's over I'll be back stateside working with a different crew. My biggest concern now is this pesky sunburn...ouch. Take care and hope all is well over there for you folks. Thanks again to all who threw in on the care package. I shared some on the contents with some of my closer friends in the platoon. Everybody is jealous of me now. "Man I wish I was part of a cool club..." HA! What a riot.
