Update. Things are going well so far. Aside from having one of the worst headcolds I have ever had, and every breath being full of dust, it's actually not so bad here. The tap water is not safe to drink I guess but we get free bottled water to take it's place. I do miss driving to work through. Walking across the base to get anyway already sucks. Well I'm gonna try and get some more rest, can't seem to sleep longer than 2 to 3 hours at a time. I'll post again soon. And your support leaves me speechless.

In a week or 2 you will adjust to your new sleep pattern. I never slept more than 3-4 hours at a time, unless it was Nyquil induced, (not good during mortar attacks). and Your feet will adjust within a month or so to all the walking and the gravel. These are my experiences, yours may differ! Stay safe brother!

Oh, you mean besides the porn and alcohol? :eek::D Serially, since the knife department is already filled I'm adding a Gerber diamond pocket sharpener and some sort of multitool -- just haven't figured out which one yet.

Good idea! Sharpeners were hard to come by, we got a multitool issued before we left, but they may not have. I know our females wanted girly things, like nail polish, girl socks, stuff to make them feel "pretty".

Wow, what an amazing bunch! Here is an idea, rather than shipping a ton of separate packages (lot of $$) to the desert, maybe someone in the states could receive a bunch of small packages from people (with a few dollars included) and ship it all at once. This would enable more money to go to stuff and less to shipping. If someone is able to do that, I think it would work great.

I'll follow this thread closely to wait for instructions and what is wanted/needed.

The only thing I have is a folding knife, and I believe the 7 and sheath is being sent individually. I am sending jerky and other things he may be able to get over there, but are expensive. I'll prob throw in some other stuff. Honestly its whatever you want to send...
