Age and choice

What is your age and what knife brands do you like?We may learn more about each other by the answer to a simple question. Please share pictures of your knives.:)

You're not going to go first?

I'm 31 and I'm pretty much about customs and semi customs with a real big interest in flippers. I still pick and choose what I like from Kershaw, ZT, Spyderco, and very rarely BM. I tend to just buy what I like.

I'm 28. Into tacticals. Getting into traditional folders.

Late 60's.

Strickly traditional pocket knives. In sheath knives I like old puuko's, stacked leather handle Case or Kaybar little finn types. I also have a soft spot in my heart for old world European peasant/work knives like Douk-Douk's, Opinels, Okapi's, and Mercator K55's. I don;t have many knives with synthetic handles and stainless steel blades. Jigged bone or stag and carbon steel for me.

I used to collect customs like Randall's, Hastings, Bone, but got burned out on them and sold off my entire collection. Now I just have knives that I can really drop in a pocket and use in the course of a day. If I can't use it in my normal life, I don't have it. Same with my firearms. I like stuff that would look at home in a Tom Sellech western or Bogart film noir flick.

28 also. Bucks, Kershaws, and Cases are my main interests at the moment, but I bought a bunch of Rough Riders and Sanrenmus earlier this year. Zero Tolerance knives are calling to me the most right now.

I'm 28 and like a bit of everything but mostly into tactical type blades. I was once into regular knives but wanted tougher, stronger, better one day and thought "military knives should be tougher" so here I am many years later still loving the tacticool blades. I luff super steels too :)

18 and im mostly into nicer spydercos, and higher end production/mid tech stuff.

A few favorites

19, into benchmades and a few spydies. Recently picked up a Busse and am preparing to say goodbye to my bank account balance.

I don't doubt it. I see so much that I want that doesn't even come close to fitting into my college budget.

Nearing 20. I don't look like a knife nut, but looks are deceiving. As for knives I have some: Spydercos, Benchmades, Kershaws and my first Case (which I bought just the other day).

I'm 19, and without a doubt Bark River makes my favorite fixed blades. I particularly love minimalist, traditional style blades (especially those with stacked leather handles, yum). Convex or scandi only!

That right there. That's a knife.

I dislike anything "tacticool." Tantos, sawbacks, black coatings, crazy finger grooves in handles, huge long blades, etc. I like to keep it simple.

Folders, however, are a different story. I tend to dislike traditional folders. Instead, I like a good, strong modern folder with solid lock up and an ergonomic handle. So naturally, Spyderco is at the top of my list.

As a college freshman in fall of 00, I bought my first "high end" knife. It was a Buck/Strider 880 in ATS34 @ $140.

I discovered this knife after being on BF.

BTW, I'm looking for that exact knife. If you have one FS, let me know.

Sixteen.

Preference is anything with a blade length between 2.5 to 3.5 inches, a thin grind and a nice (i.e ergonomic) handle. Mostly Spydercos, but the Benchmade Rift has caught my eye and the Opinel nr 8 holds a position of honour for me.

37, prefer FB's 95% of the time. normally with atleast a 4.5" blade and a handle that protects the user from self inflicted injury during thrusts. starting to lean toward larger, thicker, more woodsy blades, but they have to have the point centered in the blade cuz i can't get over that whole "stickin" thing. as for folders, the 710 ruined that department. once i was given one, i never got another folder, unless balisongs count which end up my secondary knife alot (atleast as often as the 710)

I'm 54 and love all kinds of knives. To that end I have a fair collection of traditionals, SAKs, and some modern folders(Cold Steel & CRKT). Only a few sheath knives and one tomahawk. Usually carry one SAK, a stockman, and one large folder.

35 And I'm into just about anything sharp.
-Slipjoints, flippers, balisongs, all manor of fixed, hawks, swords, shurkins/throwing knives, classic, traditional, or tacticool it's all good to me. I have several knives that I paid as much as $500+ for, but I also have $10 beater knives that I use and enjoy every day. :) ....I'm not much into knife snobbery.

I turn 63 next month and have ben a 'steel' addict for most of my life.

I own and use Bark River, and so many others that I cannot bother to name them all.

I have customs that are from small makers and cheap,I have and EDC folders such as a BM skirmish & SAK OHT trekker & a Case mini that is sheeple friendly.

Blackjack,Kershaw,Buck,Case,BlindHorse,Earthborne,C.Mays,Coldsteel,Kabar,cKc, are a few of the names that come to hand .

btw - bought a Busse and was NOT impressed :barf:.

I'm 32 and I usually carry traditional knives. I own knives of several brands, but mainly carry knives from Victorinox and Opinel in daily life. During camping and hiking I also carry a Mora.

The alox Victorinox Soldier is my most carried knife in the past 10 years and in daily life I typically carry a SAK and an other knife.
