Age and choice

42 years old. Had slipjoints and buck 110's growing up. Always an outdoorsman and a tradesman so knives were always just pretty and useful tools to me. In my early 40's I'm collecting nice modern somewhat tactical folders but beautiful slipjoints and bushcraft type knives are really starting to interest me as well. Was interested in getting a small Busse but I'm thinking that for the price I might have to stick to my beloved BK2.

48 years old. I like everything. See my signature line link. For EDC, which constitutes 97% of my knife usage, I like the Spyderco lineup, but also throw in some Cold Steel when the feeling hits me.

40 years old and love mostly any knife.

Most of my fixed blades now are Busse and ESEE. My folders are mostly Spyderco, ZT, and Hinderer. I do have some bushcraft knives like Blind Horse and Moras.

The more money I make and the older I get, the higher end knives I end up buying.

Mission MPF 3 Ti PE, and MPK 10 Ti PE
Chris Reeve sebenza small regular
Leaterhman Charge TTI

In folders I don't want anything that doesn't have full titanium slabs for handles and isn't a frame lock nor do I want anything that is serrated or partiallly serrated only plain edge.

Fixed blades same it must be plain edge and full tang construction with some kinda drop point or other utilitarian blade shape

No recurves ever.

At 51....my knives have to come sturdy with good edge retention first then, bring on the looks second. I use them as tools and not much on show. A "pretty knife" is worthless unless it'll hold an edge and cut. An Emerson A-100 or a Benchmade 710 M4 is my EDC choices...but on a cheaper side, I bought a CRKT Full Throttle for the pocket slimness and I couldn't believe how sharp this thing came out of the box. After I stropped it a few times, I'm not kidding, this thing went from sharp to hair splitting scalpel sharp and it does hold a good edge.

23 and brands i like most are BM and spyderco, but i am open with reservations to CS, CRKT, and SOG

have a few traditional slippies and lockbacks, but mostly i like stuff with clips and thumbstuds/holes just for convenience

oh and i hate wharncliffs, and karambit style blades

33.

spyderco folders,

Horton customs for fixed blade

oh and I still have one Busse left. and one kin.

39.

I mostly edc a Victorinox Spirit multitool. Others that I carry regularly (paired with the Spirit or solo) are:

Boker Subcom
GEC #25 Barlow
Case Peanut

For fixed blades I use either my custom SDS Nessmuk or a Mora 510.

I'm 84 and have a Delica 4 bought recently, I found last night a Case Mako which is nice, a Randall Survival I bought from Bo in 1955. I have a very nice etched non-folder which shows trees on the base. I just keep them to EDC the Delica but look at the others a lot and keep them sharp and clean mostly.

Hi kitkat52 -

48 here, and I love JK handmade customs, Kershaws, Bucks, Case, Benchmade.

I have a Spyderco on order, and own one Busse and a Swamp Rat.

I love a nice old slippie, but I also like the titanium frame lockers, with the higher end steels.

best regards -

56 have mostly tacticals, emerson, reeve, benchmade, etc., but also like the old slippies like pop used to carry. GEC is my favorite in that genre.

I'm 21.

I tend to lean towards high end folders. Both production and customs. Emerson, BM sometimes, and Spyderco are my productions. Customs I own a Korth, but I'm looking into getting an Anso, Southard, and a few others. I really want to get a Sebenza, Umnumzaan, SMF, XM-24, and others of that sort.

Hi,

I'm in my 50's and I like slip-joints and plain high carbon steel. My favorite EDC knives are a Schrade 34OT, Case Canoe, and a Boker Barlow.

Late 50's and I enjoy most brands out there, but Buck holds a cherished place in my collection. For me, civilization peaked at the BG-42, CPM-154 and S30V Buck 110's, although frequent users are my 440C two dot 110's.

Edit: Almost forgot my Griptilians.

50 and right now I'm EDCing a Spyderco Sage CF...Really like this one, and I think it's in the rotation to stay. Others include more Spydies, Bradley Alias II, BenchMades, Kershaw, CRKT folders. Also have a few fixed, including a Becker Necker, Seal Pup Elite and a CSK. Looking seriously at a custom or two.

I'm 43 and an ESEE fan. My H.E.S.T. is my all-time favorite knife... at least until the H.E.S.T/F comes out.
