Photos Agents of SHIELD - Your Favorite Traditional Knife Shields

Choice examples there Nick! I keep dreaming of Tip-Bolsters but I've yet to see a contemporary manufacturer or Custom maker attemp them, a vanished skill?

Thanks, Will
Thanks Will. Yes I agree with you, I mostly see them on old knives. I’m sure there are custom ones out there though. Are they really that difficult to make? I’m tempted to get one custom made...

A squirrel shield Andy Fannin did for me, I love this shield and intend to use it again on some other commissions from him.

Part of the fascination of shields is the skill needed to inlet them. Opinions vary, some connoisseurs prefer the shield to be slightly raised, other like me take the opposite position, flush or sunk amongst a topography of Stag...:D This GEC shield has been shown before but my 83 never fails to impress me by the skill and audacity with which the shield has been inlet.

Too bad GEC doesn't elect to do this anymore:rolleyes:

Really Unexcelled  Peerless:thumbsup:
