Ahem... The Caly 3 is Here!

I thought they were supposed to retail cheaper than that?

:(

I'm not suprised based on the price of the Ocelot. These high end Seki knives are expensive. I've found that they have better fit and finish than the golden knives, though, so I'm actually glad it's a Seki model.

Curse my being a teenager with no time for a job *angry*
So beautiful...I bet it works really nicely too

Oh my, that looks like the perfect EDC. Great size and low-rider clip. I think I may be buying one of these very soon.

Are those rivets? Uhg I like knives I can take apart. Looks pretty though. I like my original Caly lots.

Starstorm -- I see your point saying: Curse my being a teenager with no time for a job, however, I would trade you all my knives to be a teenager again! Don't worry there will be even better knives available when you get to that point.

this is my trusty friend that has given me many years service...

I look forward to trying out the new Caly III.

OH man Ed, I could not agree with you more!! Hang in there Starstorm. Before you know it, you will be pushing 50, wondering where those last 30 years went!!

I just heard that the CC versions have shipped to the retailers. I can't wait! This will be my first (and second, SE and PE) Spyderco as a CC member..

It doesn't make sense to me that the Caly 3 costs about the same as a Manix.

May I ask a dumb question? What is "CC version" and "CC member"?

Collector's Club. It's something the real Spyderco collector's get in on where they basically agree to buy every single model that comes out. The first run of every new knife is typically laser engraved with each person's specific collector's number and sent to them before the rest of us are able to buy them. There are only a certain amount of people allowed in the club, and there is a line to get in when another person drops out. This is the info I've gathered reading here and there, so some of it might not be entirely accurate.

There are 200 members. There are three variations:

All varieties - MOST EXPENSIVE

New models - Only one, the main model (usually SE) no handle varieties or blade options

Kopa - All the cool handles they come out with - Red Bone, Tiger Coral etc

Yeah, it does add up ($) and there will be knives you really want that aren't included (don't believe Sprint Runs are included even in the All Variations level). You can change levels, at will, once you are in. I think there may still be a couple open slots (not sure).

Hope this helps,

Ken

MJR,J85909266,
Actually, there are some “empty seats” in Collector Club. I believe, around 20 or so. Membership is limited to 200. If you have questions about CC, you can contact Ruth from Spyderco. She is very nice woman and would be happy to help you.
