Airless Exchange?

Pardon me for asking a stupid question. If people don't like the way the exchange operates, why don't they just sell their knives someplace else?

the issue is recent changes, not how the exchange operates overall. i think we all sell here because we know who, for the most part, the knife will be going to. among other reasons, ie ebay fees and such.

and werent you the one with all the 'complaints' about the company store?

Right. But doesn't BF charge a "fee" to be able to sell on the exchange? And what difference does it make who you sell a knife to? We're not talking about making sure that inanimate objects end up going to good homes, are we?

You bet your sweet bippy I was . . . :D I got a nice response from Jerry for my efforts.

the only fee is the membership charge, yearly.

and yes we are talking about that. i try and help others who are looking for a particular knife often, and i enjoy selling/trading to friends and making new ones through deals. ebay does not offer a community atmosphere similar to the one here.

after some time here you may have a similar view, or not.

the point of my last comment is this: you seem to be suggesting that if we are unhappy, we should shut up and go somewhere else. yet you make numerous posts on how a system already in place should be changed.

makes little sense.

I'm glad YOU know I'm thinking. I'm not sure myself all the time. ;)

yet you make numerous posts on how a system already in place should be changed.

Heaven forbid anyone should ever do that!

Seems to me that those kinds of transactions should be arranged via PMs, not on an open exchange. After all, anybody can say "I'll take it", right?

What I have started doing is this.

(1) If I just want to see what variety the exchange has on it I will browse through it page by page.

(2) When I am interested in just seeing INFI I use the "advanced" search to look for "Busse" and specify the search to be done in the "For Sale By Individual" only. This way I get all the INFI at once. Perhaps not as fun as the old way but it works for now. :)

That's awesome. And it leads me to my next stupid question. If this works so well for you, why shouldn't it work for everyone?

ok, whatever that means.

not at all, but its only ok for you to question? you comment is completely contradictory to your posts.

which i have done numerous times from the wtb section. just because i havent posted something on the exchange doesnt mean i wont part with it.

Ok, I'm really glad that I didn't start this thread or I'd be eating crow about now... I am already chewing on a little for pulling my FSEx thread, maybe I misinterpreted the quietness of the Exchange as being more permanent than it might be, while everyone quieted down and digested the new policies... Although one just backed out from an earlier PM (not a prob.), I still got 2 bites, so to speak, so I'm gonna flip this **** and get positive. Maybe I'll even re-list, but I'll wait out the rest of the time 'til what would have be my next free bump first, and lurk over there a bit more... :)

alright bld522, you dont respond to any of my questions, fine. dont want to respond to me? then stop doing it.

off to the 'pay no mind list'.

It's all good, Jaxx. Hogs aren't stupid. Those who can afford to buy lots of Busse knives are generally not at the bottom of the food chain. There are plenty of people in this community with the brainpower and desire to figure out ways to make the system work if that's what they choose to do. Whether MORIMOTOM likes it or not, those are precisely the kinds of people I'm interested in drawing out. Based on Tyrkon Lawson's post, I'd say I'm doing pretty good so far. :D
