No worries, Otto. I friggin hate facebook for stuff like this. I've had a page for a couple years, and I keep thinking it's time to close it out entirely. Stuff like this is entirely aggravating for all involved.
 
Has anyone SEEN Al ? Sounds like it could be a scam , kinda like cashing grandma's SSI check for a decade or so after her death . Just a thought...:D
 
In the past Al usually had a table at the Nov. New York Custom show. Don't know about this year but it might be a way to talk to him face to face.

This scam artist and fraud actually has a table registered! This is worthy of a visit from my collleagues in the New Jersey State Police.

Talked to Al via Facebook. He told me he has not been well and will not be working. Promised to return the deposit. Wish him well.
 
Well, at least it's an update. His FB page must require being a friend to view. Now i've got to go about getting my money back from him.
 
Why not do a people search, find his address, and contact the local authorities? This is theft. Threaten him with legal action.

Well, it has been a few months since our last posts. I must assume no one has received either money or product from Polkowski.

In response to you good comment, this is a civil action with the exception of federal wirefraud violations. Local law enforcement would not get involved regretfully.

Too bad a man with a once great reputation will be remembered for this type of fraudulant activity.
 
Just curious to see if he was set up at the knife show in New Jersey over the weekend?
 
Wow, am I glad I found this thread.

I just emailed him for an order. Good thing no funds were sent! Best of luck to those who have already paid him.
 
Sorry all. I'm really sorry...

Things have not been going well for me and I haven't been able to work for over a year.

I have about 10 knives that are paid for but have not been delivered and $30 deposits on about 20 other knives. This is not good, but please try not to totally condemn me as the worlds biggest fraud....I have proved that I'm not for over 20 years.

Be assured I will make good on all of them.

I'm not at the point where I can deal with this now but I will deal with it.

I'm a fan from way back and it wasn't pleasant to hear the complaints, which seem to come from honest but disappointed people.
I'm very sorry to hear about your health concerns, as I'm sure we all are, and I wish you the best of health and a full recovery.
But a big part of the problem seems to be a lack of communication, If you answer people's questions, or have someone help in that regard, and let them know your situation and your plans, that may go a long way to dispel the doubt and anger some feel.
Hopefully this is a good start.
 
Keep a knife maker honest:

By never paying upfront or leaving a deposit (unless you wanted super special materials)

Pay only upon delivery and everyone stays on the same page...................
