al-Zarqawi is DEAD

Well, as I read my way down the thread I was preparing to flame your ass red hot Vivi. But now I guess you seem OK. Thanks for that.

I CELEBRATED THE DEATH OF ZARQUAWI BECAUSE:

. His deeds, nuff said, evil bastard, won't be doing any more of that
. His power in the AQ orginazation, and the subsequent vaccum
. His contacts with OB (another evil bastard I'm waiting to celebrate the death of)
. His money, which was gotten from OB and other sources, and was used to pay for beheadings and bombings of our boys and civilians etc
. His leadership, which is purported to be advanced, is now gone, and won't be easy to replace
. His example as a dead lifeless lump of shit who got smeared like a bug over the sand and allowed to die slowly enough for our boys to see it happen
. Our boys, who have vanquished a tough enemy, success is a buoy to their spirits, and they deserve it whether you judge it to be 'disgusting' or not

I wish, when people decide they want to judge a group of people, they would do it where people can respond accordingly, such as the identical thread in Whine and Cheese. Then they could be dealt with in a manner befitting their deed, although, I don't think it would have ended so well, or positively at all. I acknowledge your apology, but since I just read this mess, I'm still stinging. You seem like a good guy, and if you stick around you'll find yourself surrounded by the good ones. This place is one of a kind. Sorry for the obvious bitterness, but as you've already acknowledged the offense, you must understand the emotion.

Oh, for heavens sakes, Andy. If this was in Whine and Cheese and there most likely would have been no window and no dialouge.

I think some of this steam may be left over from the Guy who told us the airplanes did not take down the Twin Towers.

Its a good theory, and you could be right. Still, I wasn't anything but honest. I came into this late, and it was a lot to absorb all at once. I'm not still stinging, but I was. Plus, I was relatively soft and certainly conversation centered too. I also don't see a lot of similarities between that guy, and Vivi, who wasn't even from the same paralell universe as that zombieish troll. I wouldn't have made the paralell out of respect for Vivi even though I was a little put off by Vivi's statements.

On another note. NV, I LOVE the new avatar!!!!! MMMMMM.

Some info I dug up:

Iraq Body Count Press Release 13, 9th March 2006. En Español In Italiano
For current totals including the update below, see our database page.

IRAQ DEATH TOLL IN THIRD YEAR
OF OCCUPATION IS HIGHEST YET

The civilian death toll has risen inexorably for the entire duration of the US-led military presence in Iraq following the initial invasion. That is the grim reality uncovered by ongoing tracking of media reports by the Iraq Body Count project (IBC).

Figures released by IBC today, updated by statistics for the year 2005 from the main Baghdad morgue, show that the total number of civilians reported killed has risen year-on-year since May 1st 2003 (the date that President Bush announced “major combat operations have ended”):

6,331 from 1st May 2003 to the first anniversary of the invasion, 19th March 2004 (324 days: Year 1)
11,312 from 20th March 2004 to 19th March 2005 (365 days: Year 2)
12,617 from 20th March 2005 to 1st March 2006 (346 days: Year 3).
In terms of average violent deaths per day this represents:

20 per day in Year 1
31 per day in Year 2 and
36 per day in Year 3.

Here's another bit of stuff:

Year US Deaths US Wounded
2003 486 2409
2004 848 7992
2005 846 5945
2006 312 1523
Total 2492 1786

Wonder why the drop in wounded? More body armor? More armored vehicles? Letting the Iraqi army and police force take more responsibility?

HD. People die during wars, why is this a suprise? Do the Iraquis bear no responsibility for the actions of their ex-leader (Saddam)?

The only suprise to me is that in 3 years the casualty rate is actually higher now than at the beginning.

I'm not sure what you mean about them bearing no responsiblity. I personally think they should have borne the responsibility for overthrowing him not us. It's their country, and if they wanted him out then they should have done it.

That was my point exactly. His actions were their responsibility, their oppression was their responsibility. They have let it happen for hundreds of years. We shouldn't have had to go. We did have to go. There are going to be deaths when you take that responsibility for/from someone.

I'm not suprised the death rate is going up, it takes a while to organize these things. I will be suprised if they continue to rise though.

Here's a reality check Andy; before the war, during the 'embargo'? The left blamed us for the 2 million starved children in Iraq, while France and the UN made back door deals. Then we were blamed for going into Iraq, 'and to let the sanctions' work.

Got "Can't Win" ittus?; welcome to the New World Order, where it's all the United State's fault.

Remember the Colorado Professor who referred to the Twin Tower victims at Little Eikman's- because we 'deserved' to have the Towers blown?

Who can forget how 'we' let Bin Laden get away in the Mountains in Pakistan? Or how 'we' caused all this because we trained Bin Laden?
No, that's wrong- we caused all this because Bush wanted Oil, or was it his Father's pride that made him Lie to the American people?

I lose track. We do everything wrong. It's hard for me to remember if America ever saved a single person or fought a single disease? That can't be right either, because we caused AIDs to kill black people....
