The Albers has arrived, and, to put it mildly, I am completely blown away. Wow! This is truly a work of art. I can only echo the many sentiments in this thread as to the quality, workmanship and beauty of Eric's knives, and feel fortunate that I am finally able to experience this firsthand. The Corn Husk Raffir is absolutely inspired -- it is as if the plant fiber is suspended in amber, and the covers have a depth and dimensionality that is dynamic. The photos here really don't do it justice -- rotating the knife in the hand yields constantly changing views that are mesmerizing. The blade has an appropriately solid pull, and snaps into place in the half-stop and open positions. Spring is flush at the half-stop. Overall, the knife has an extremely solid feel.
Eric, I feel fortunate to finally own one of your knives -- it is truly a thing of beauty!

Awesome news on the ETA for the lambsfoot knives Eric. God speed.Jim those are some awesome pics! I might have to hire you as my photographer!![]()
All the knives are now shipped folks, I had a one day delay in packing as I had to head down to my folks the day after the drop to install a bathroom fan. Not fun laying across those ceiling joists for hours! Ugh, every 16 inches of my body feels like it was target practice at a driving range LOL!
I did get around six or so packed before I left so those are what's showing up now. Got the rest all packed up and shipped today so I'd imagine they should start arriving at their destinations on Monday.
Also, a little lamb foot update; blades and springs are cut and once the surface grinding is finished I can do nail marks and tang stamps and send them off to heat treat. Still waiting on liners and bolster blanks but that process goes fairly quickly so I'm not too worried yet. Right now I'm shooting for an end of August batch of knives but I'll keep you posted as time goes on, might be a bit later.
As far as how quickly the knives sell out, I don't think there's anything I can do about that. It's mind boggling to me as well. The problem is I have 50 knives (actually 52 this time) at a time to sell and over 1500(!!) people on the notification list alone. That's not to mention word of mouth through Facebook, etc., so they're going to go fast regardless. I don't see an issue with multiples to flippers, etc though. In this batch there were only about three people who snagged two knives with Primble being one of them and he's already found a porcher to sell it to at cost, which I actually knew was his intention from the git-go since that's how he rolls. When you look at those numbers it's actually pretty impressive how many folks on this forum actually manage to get one. I do know, from what I've been reading here, that the notifications don't seem to be arriving at the same time. That's a bit annoying as they're all sent at once. I guess they snag in servers or what-not on the way through the web. The only thing I can do in addition to that is to send one out the day before, informing everyone of the drop time on the next day. Hopefully I don't wind up being delayed in the process and miss the drop myself or I might be drawn and quartered!
Enjoy the knives everyone!!
Eric
PS- the Raffir is very tough, harder to buff scratches out of that than out of the steel!

WOW. That's the nicest i have seen posted so far. Just Stunning.
Yes, it is the old unintended consequences conundrum.I don't think there is any method that is truly going to work better than what you currently do. A one-day heads up is a double edged sword - it is helpful perhaps to the few who have trouble with the notifications (myself included) but it also ensures that a far greater number of prospective buyers will get lined up at the trough come feeding time. If you think your knives sell fast now, just wait til you see how it is with a "scheduled" release...

I had this beauty waiting for me when I got home this weekend. Build quality is excellent with that trademark solid Albers pull. When I saw the recent handle materials being offered, I knew the corn husk raffir was the only one I would attempt to pickup, glad I succeeded.
Thank you sir. I don't know about that though. That Corn Husk Raffir that Jim posted might get the prize if I was voting.WOW. That's the nicest i have seen posted so far. Just Stunning.
The one you have kept, runs a very close second.I loved both of mine.
