Can I reserve one now?Pics are looking great guys! I'm FINALLY making some progress again! I was beginning to wonder if things would ever get moving again but here I am back in the shop with the stove a crankin'! Here's where I'm at as far as hafts. Tomorrow I start gauging and finishing blades and springs and then I can start assembling. I'm hoping to get this run done by around the second week in January. Also have about a dozen hempwood hafts. First time using that material so I'm curious to see how it turns out. I'll keep you posted!

Hemp fibers are compressed with a binder. Similar to micarta or fiberglass. They make flooring and boards out of it. It looks attractive and should make good looking and durable knife handles. I don't know anything about its workability though.Interesting!! I didn't know Hemp grew big enough to develop Wood!!??
The Stag Hafts look great, Eric!!![]()

It looks better on handles, in that "chopped" or short-strand format, Eric!! Those are going to be cool!!Charlie that flooring looks very cool! Here's a shot of it in its rough form on some scales:
Ha! I thought the long fiber stuff in the floorboards looked betterIt looks better on handles, in that "chopped" or short-strand format, Eric!! Those are going to be cool!!
I know what you mean, Mike. But I've seen beautiful wood, in large formats look great, but when cut small, lose the character! Only the finished product will tell I guess!!Ha! I thought the long fiber stuff in the floorboards looked betterThe short, choppy stuff made me think of particle board. Of course, both will probably look good when finished.
