Albers Cutlery Company

Over the moon to have scored a red box elder burl, after failing at every other drop since the site went live 😅
I'll look forward to seeing everyone's photos as I wait for mine to cross the Atlantic.

ea42 ea42 would you be willing to share how many of each cover option were made please?

Charlie congrats on snagging one! I did 21 cork oak, 27 box elder burl, and 2 patriot kirinite (had two extra blades and springs 😊 ).

It's a bit distressing to hear that some folks got the notifications late. I sent them all out at the same time ( I think 8:02 Eastern) to make the playing field as equal as possible but I have no control over what happens to them after I hit "send". Maybe some get hung up in various servers en-route to their destinations?

Eric

Congrats to all who scored one. I got tied up and checked the site at 6:05 but all were gone… 4 minutes 55 seconds to late 🤷🏼‍♂️

That is what would be happening. I know nothing about computers, but my nephew works in the industry and what he does not know is not worth knowing. He told me that is what would have happened, it has something to do with re-routing, he explained it to me, but he may has well have been talking hieroglyphics. o_Oo_Oo_O:)

Sadly, I'll never own an Albers knife. I've tried everything I know to do to get knife release email notices, newsletters etc. And tried making an account on the Albers site.
I NEVER get an email and even if I did, I likely would never see it within 5min of arrival. So I'll just admire the wonderful Albers knives you guys and Eric share.
Congratulations to those who get their hands on one :) ... Nice

My live notification came at 9:05 p.m., E.S.T. just for your information. All knives sold out.
Time Warner Cable DSL is my server.
I wonder if there might be a better way to level the playing field, but, have no real solution. ☺️

I believe this is the very issue that sent knifeswapper knifeswapper in search of a solution that ended in his adopting his very good notification system. But it is an added expense and headache.

Perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea, but I prefer advance notice of time and date of release on the Maker/Dealer’s page. No need for emails notices, which often arrive late. No extra work for you, and everyone has a fighting chance.

I like this idea as well, but the only problem is too many buyers that would crash the website. Just look at how many on this thread alone have said they missed the release because of several various reasons, and they were still all gone in a minute.
Now if the knives were priced correctly (they should be at least a hundred dollars more), then those who really wanted them would have a chance without having to be a techno-whiz. The quality of Eric's knives are at least the equal of the Case/Bose series, which sell for $400+.

My Cork Oak has landed. I've seen cork board before but have never seen the wood it's made from. This one has some cool depth where the dark lines seems to be floating above the light parts at certain angles. The dark lines themselves can blend in with the lighter areas or get really dark, again at certain angles. Really like this one!

With such unique covers, how does it feel in the hand, looks like it would have a fantastic feel to it.:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool::cool::cool:

It's actually really smooth, almost slippery smooth. I've only handed one other wooden Albers and it had the same feel. Not sure if all wooden covers are finished this way.
