Growing up in Hawaii, Lord help me if there's a run in koa wood.I love the various exotic woods Eric chooses for these runs. How often have you seen macadamia or cork oak used on knives?
Totally agree, great observation. The knives look fantastic. They seem to be getting nicer every release. I did not think that would be possible after how great the first few runs were.
Over the moon to have scored a red box elder burl, after failing at every other drop since the site went live
I'll look forward to seeing everyone's photos as I wait for mine to cross the Atlantic.
ea42 would you be willing to share how many of each cover option were made please?
That is what would be happening. I know nothing about computers, but my nephew works in the industry and what he does not know is not worth knowing. He told me that is what would have happened, it has something to do with re-routing, he explained it to me, but he may has well have been talking hieroglyphics.Maybe some get hung up in various servers en-route to their destinations?
Koa is gorgeous. Wife and I bought some kitchen bowls when we visited last in 2008. They have held up really well. Gorgeous woodGrowing up in Hawaii, Lord help me if there's a run in koa wood.
My live notification came at 9:05 p.m., E.S.T. just for your information. All knives sold out. It's a bit distressing to hear that some folks got the notifications late. I sent them all out at the same time ( I think 8:02 Eastern) to make the playing field as equal as possible but I have no control over what happens to them after I hit "send". Maybe some get hung up in various servers en-route to their destinations?

I believe this is the very issue that sentMy live notification came at 9:05 p.m., E.S.T. just for your information. All knives sold out.
Time Warner Cable DSL is my server.
I wonder if there might be a better way to level the playing field, but, have no real solution.![]()
I like this idea as well, but the only problem is too many buyers that would crash the website. Just look at how many on this thread alone have said they missed the release because of several various reasons, and they were still all gone in a minute.I prefer advance notice of time and date of release on the Maker/Dealer’s page

Now if the knives were priced correctly (they should be at least a hundred dollars more), then those who really wanted them would have a chance without having to be a techno-whiz. The quality of Eric's knives are at least the equal of the Case/Bose series, which sell for $400+.
With such unique covers, how does it feel in the hand, looks like it would have a fantastic feel to it.My Cork Oak has landed. I've seen cork board before but have never seen the wood it's made from. This one has some cool depth where the dark lines seems to be floating above the light parts at certain angles. The dark lines themselves can blend in with the lighter areas or get really dark, again at certain angles. Really like this one!

It's actually really smooth, almost slippery smooth. I've only handed one other wooden Albers and it had the same feel. Not sure if all wooden covers are finished this way. With such unique covers, how does it feel in the hand, looks like it would have a fantastic feel to it.![]()
