ITE,
Here are a couple of first gen 422's. I bought the OD one when I was a kid and has been along on several hunting trips and is a favorite of my collection. The chocolate brown one I found on ebay awhile back and just had to have it. I'm still looking to find the correct sheath for the brown one. enjoy

and with their close cousins the ecolites

Thanks hendo700, for sharing your 2 older Bucklites with us... The 422OD green one with the green camo sheath is my
favorite Buck knife... I take it everywhere I go... I like the ecolites too, I don't have any yet... Someday...
You never did email me back... ITE ...

Ducks Unlimited Selector Set. This set came as shown. Notice that the sheath has two inner pockets, front is for the handle and rear is for three blades and their covers (typically one blade is in the handle). The box label came unglued in my hands so it is pictured here against the box. I need glue. The blades are clip point, drop point and saw. Notice how the saw is rather short. This is due to the fact that 110 blades were used to make the saw so there wasn't enough material in the 110 blade to make the saw blade any larger (per Jeff Hubbard @ Buck, see quote and link below)*. The saw blades does have double teeth to it is capable for its size.

RJ,
The selector was discontinued a few years back.

The saw was short, because I believe we used a modified 110 blade. With the style of tip the 110 has, it had to be cut short.
I persoanlly think that this model should come back.

I think the reason the saw and the gut hooks are so short is that they don't have an upsweep at the tip like a normal blade. If those blades were any longer, they would bump into the spring holder.

ITE, Did you mean you got a orange one with a 112 marked blade as that one is ? 300

300, yes I got one... A orange handle 422OR with a 112 blade... Got this one in a collection from Steve S...
And I got the 426 orange handle one to...

422OR...

Forgot I had this one. It is a Buck 425 bucklite with partially serrated blade with gold Buckcote #C425-X2-0. I personally like these little 425's.
