All about Bucklites and Selector's & 110's & 112's LTs and Slims ...

Hang in there CAINE and keep looking. 46 years ago I was an infantryman ground pounder with no BUCKLITES. Now I have about 30. Hope it doesn't take you that long though:)

Here is my Selector which came out in 1989 and it had that date stamp on it's original blades. Whereas the Bucklite came out around 1984. These handles were interchangeable and like Buck's practice they would interchange items as they were needed. This went on regularly. So, I'll bet there are more around that were put together using Bucklite handles. DM
Thanks David M, for sharing your Selector with us... I really like that Blade on your
Selector... The saw is really cool too... They all look good...

Thanks again, ITE ... :)

One day ill own a bucklite

caine, like tparrott said, there out there... I have a hard time finding them myself...

But I keep trying and looking and asking for help... I have some cool friend that help

me find them... and I thank you all... Just keep looking... ITE ... :)

If you buy through eBay it's simple to set up a "watch list". You do a search for whatever you want, and then save the search (I have about 12 saved searches for various knives I'm trying to find) when someone lists that particular item you are alerted through your eBay account. I even have mine set up to alert me through my phone when a new listing applies to one of my saved searches.

David Martin, I was hoping you would tell us more about your blades,
for your selector... Thanks ... :)

As soon as the new BCCI website gets fully functional......

In the back of one or two of the 80's Buck catalogs there is a picture of a counter display of the Bucklites and Selectors that show several types of knives and a whole host of blades. That's what my memory says anyway.....300

The Trailing point or Sodbuster blade I ground from 1/8" stock 440C and heat treated. Then polished as you see. The saw blade I ground and cut with a file from L6 steel. I've made several of these Selector saw blades as I thought the saw blade they came with was too short. I really like the 428 Selector as it offers 2 blades and this handle width gives it a comfortable feel. DM

That's cool that you made your own blades... Who did the heat treated for you...
Did you do it... That Saw blade is really cool to... It must have took a long time
to make...

ITE ... :)

I said I heat treated it. I have equipment. I have been heat treating my blades since 1999. DM

Well Dave, that's cool... I had no idea you knew how to heat treat or even have the equipment to do it... I've never been to your house... That is really awesome... Now to get Buck to make some of those blades that would be really cool... :)

ITE,
He has to know how to heat treat and all sorts of crafts. He lives on the road to the wilderness, down near the end.....You don't drop in as you go by, you have actually go to that spot. 300

Interesting story behind this 426. If the gold etch on the blade looks familiar it's because it is the same one that was on the first BCCI club knife . . . the 1990 Sawby. Vern Taylor sent three Bucklites to the etching company to see if their work would be acceptable and for approval. This is one of those three.
