I forgot about Southern Grind! Seems I heard they were bought by somebody else. Probably a discussion for another thread, and it probably exists, already.

Forgot that Spyderco sources things from all over the world, too.

That's a project for some bored masochist: charting the origins of knives, their steel, incidental parts like screws.... It would be frustrating to pull off (how many factories really pay attention to where the steel in their pivot pins comes from?), but an interesting read. Like a "Berry Compliance" chart, for knives.

Keep listing 'em, if you get 'em!

I heard that! I dabble in a little stock removal myself. I don't want to take away anything from custom makers, I was thinking about people who want to buy as American as possible, but may not have the resources for a single-author folding knife. Sure, when you get into Olamic, fancy CRKs and something like a Po Boy Emerson, you're scraping the edges of full custom, and not all of us are ready to play in that arena, either!

The lines between "production", "custom", and "mid-tech" are getting even more blurry than they used to be, and I think this is a good thing. For purposes of this thread, I was mostly thinking about production and mid-tech (for whatever those terms mean for you), because if we start talking about single-author knives, we may as well just paste the entire Knifemaker's For Sale sub-forum into this thread, and it would crash straight into the post-length restriction before you got 1/10 of the way through.

Y’all are lacking…

The subject of country of origin comes up fairly often. So, are there any knife manufacturers that try their best to make sure they do as much in the States as possible?
I don't think a company like Buck, Kershaw, or Spuderco that have entire lines made outside the US can be considered to be doing as much as possible in the states. Doing as much as possible in the states would mean zero knives get made overseas

That's 22 US-made models, including the LW versions.
They make 34 models in Japan, NOT including multiple handle materials or the various lines of kitchen knives...
