All-Metal Knives

British Naval Clasp Knife by J.Allen & Sons.

Re-posted from the "Old Knives" sticky thread.

Here's one you don't see every day. Allen Cutlery Co Newburgh NY. Circa 1917-25. Measures 4 7/8". The model name is an offensive term by today's standard so I edited the original add as to not offend anyone.

I've still not managed to assign a maker to this Champagne Knife.

4 parts, plus pins, will make one. 2 handles, one spring and one blade!! It's hard to turn down a nice one, if it comes up!:

Great thread, Charlie-- thank you.

However, you seem to have forgotten my favorite (Dan/Parke1 shares my good taste in this matter):

Out of the many Barlows that Charlie had on display, this one (the one on the right) was my favorite. It's a 4 piece knife with iron scales/bolsters, and then just the blade and the backspring.

Another Sheffield-made advertising knife.

Of better quality is this Hunphrey's Radiant Lobster promoting Thornycroft.
