All packed up for my camping trip

I am taking a firearms on the trip. Fortunately concealed carry is something I can do here. I will keep that in mind supersurvivalpost. I have a knee problem so I usually do mellow hikes anyway.

Kool, i think hooking up for a short trip, or camping trip may be great fun. I also have some friends that just got back in the USA 2 weeks ago, from the army that love to go camping, and backpacking with me, and i know with you as well. By the way, just call me Don or Donald, my wife's name is Dee. But she's not in to the outdoors stuff, my 3 kids at one time did go out, but now thay tell me its no fun. Yes thay all got ( BIG ) and now dads to old, LOL!. I think of all the time and years i put in to my kids, and thay just want the city life. My 23 year old son, tells me he don't want to do any more suevival skills, camping, or shooting, he tells me he knows it all, he don't need to keep up on any, and all skills, he ( KNOWS IT ALL ). So most of the time i go with others, not my family. Your friend at the post Donald S.

mblackfu, if you make it out to AZ, you are welcome.

My wife is not in to camping or hiking either. I have taken my 5 and 7 year olds up to the rim a few times and they do pretty well. Of course they love it up there. I picked up 0 degree Kelty bags for them and winter gear.

I will be sure to take pics of the trip.

thesuper it looks like your profile does not allow emails so you can email me and I can get your email address and we can plan a trip. I am doing another trip next month sometime. Do you ever go out to Ben Avery? I do quite a bit of training out there.

Well hi my friend, i know about Ben Avery, but did not ever go out to it. No reason, just had no time, or did not want to go by my self, thats no fun. I did at one time go alot to the old Shooter's World when i helped Joe A. play law man, i at one time in my life went shooting about 3 to 4 times a week, but now i have no reason to go, but i will go with you if you like, i do have some weapons. Just call me on my cell phone after 3pm. My number is ( 602 ) 531-8060 ask for Don, or show-up at my work, i work at food city at 59av and Bethany home road, phoenix az. I work in the meat dept. Two reasons im posting my info on the forum, one i don't care if others call me, it ok, two, you can not get to know a person over a keybord, you think this person is kool, kind and a real good person and than you find he, or she, is not what you were thinking. Stop by and say hi, or call me and i will pay for lunch, i will tell you all i know about me if you want to know. I like to camp, im not in to alot of backpacking now adays, the reason is my age and im a bit out of shape, but i can do it. I like car and 4x4 camping trips, i like guns, dogs and most people. Stop in and say hi if you have a short time, after all i am working. Im also working on my own survival book at home, i want one day to be payed to do other outdoor skills books. Survival and outdoors is my other life, i have in the last 13 years or so, taken teens and older persons on short outdoor survival skills camp-outs, it is and was my own club. None of the 108 members at the time, had any money to pay for the outings, but i did not do it for the money, it was for the teens and my kids, so i payed or it all. I have a great paying job, so the money was no big thing at the time, the people had fun, i had fun and it was a great time for all. So as you can now see, i always pay my own way, and alway like to help out others, some times this is good and some times it's bad. Your friend at the post, Donald S.

What is the green rope looking thing on the end of the stock on your AK?

Your Glock 27 wasn't enough to help you sleep at night huh???

looks like you had a good time, from your photos it looks like the lake waters is way down. I think from what i can see, i looked around from some of the spots you took your photos from, its a nice place to be. Lots of life all around you 24/7, if and when we talk next, let me tell you an easy way to get the crayfish out of the water, i know two good ways with in the law. Your friend at the post Donald S.

Dang!! I forgot to tell you about the crawfish. They are just overflowing over there. My buddy and I went to Big Lake and set a trap and it was full in just over an hour. Never had so many crawfish out of the Bayou in my life! Glad you had fun. Did you hump that AK the whole time?

Good looking dog. Been trying to break in my newest pit to hiking. He's just the most stubborn dog I've ever had. Build like a tank though, 8 months old and almost 70lbs.

Don't know how many Arizona folks frequent here, but it would be fun to do a BF camping trip. I'm in Tucson personally, maybe we could figure out something up north! Getting ready to do a 3 nighter up in the Rincons by myself, hope to cover 15 miles a day. If I'm motivated I'll do a post. Glad you had a fun time.

I was camping on the rim at the same time. We were in a campground with many friends, but took a walk along the rim - beautiful views. I have been camping in many spots on the Mogollon for years, love the area. Incidently, if anyone remembers, they used to film parts of Grizzly Adams in the area.

Hi friends, i was just thinking about all the fun and great skills we as a group can do in north arizona, i know i would have a great time on a short backpacking trip, i was thinking 2 to 3 miles some were north, like Mogollon Rim, maybe Bear Canyon Lake sounds good, but im open to other ideas. I think we can all set up a two to five day campout in the woods of arizona, i see J33psru1e, fieldtestornothing, DRE, and my self are from arizona, and i did say to mbackfu if i go you can go with me, i think others from arizona are on this forum as well. Going with a group of people into the woods is fun, i did it for 12 years, most of the trips are a car camping trip, i did a small bit of backpackihg trips, but as i say im open to other ideas and ways, i know i will have a good time. We can all see if other people want to go along, now i know one or two of you maybe thinking the group may be to large, and you may be right. But in a group you have alot of help, from first aid to getting fire wood, to keeping a large black bear out of are tents and camp, it works for me. Lats say DRE breaks a leg, or any of us do, we now are three miles out in the woods, up and down hills, with plants and rocks in are way, we can in a group help carry this man out to get real help, as a large group we can do alot. I know alot of you will say yes its a good idea, i was going to take some time off in October, i think around the 2nd week, but i will look. This will be time to get the ball rolling, and set up the trip, we can all split the cost of the gas from phoenix to north arizona, and just use one or to cars, the others can park at my house or others homes, we can all buy are own food and drinks, but lets think backpacking food and drink unless we are going on a car style trip. And just one more idea, it may be good or not so good, there is no reason for all of us to carry the same gear, i talking like all of us having hand water filters, binoculars, any climbing gear, so on and so on. please look on this forum on this page i posted my phone number, call me, i want to do this trip. As i was saying on this posting, im open to other ideas, so if any of you dont want, or think you can not backpack 2 to 3 miles, i think the others on this forum will cut it down to fit your needs, i know i will, i will help you in any way i can, and if you need to, i will help carry any gear in my pack you can not. Its not that im in good shape, its just me wanting to help a friend out. Please all think about this, than call me and we will set it up, and one day we my look back on this after we all make good friends for life, and think, if it was not for the bladeforum we may not know each other, your friend at the post Donald S.

Hey now that sounds like fun, wife does not like camping as for me I love the outdoors. bear canyon is a good spot but it is filled most of the time. My last trip I wanting a bit more peaceful area so I drove the road for a bit and found another road that lead to to a nice opening big enough for alittle archery shooting (30lb recurve, not legal for hunting but fun for shooting blocks) and large enough for my truck tent. I hiked the canyon area below and spot several elk does and finally a buck elk. I enjoyed that trip in late June. I am ready for another. This winter I want to try the camping around bull head city and kingman area. Any places to recommend?

I forgot to say nice dog! One my dogs is to old 12 years and no longer goes with me, the other pic is my avtar is my outdoors dog. Blue healer and some other mix.
