All Rounder Fixed Blade

You can't go wrong with the Street Beat - light weight, good slicer, good steel, and comfortable in the hand. Personally, if I was buying one I would spend the extra money for the discontinued micarta version.

Once again guys, think about stabbing with the Guardian 3. Your finger will surely slide onto edge. Despite the name the guardian is no self defense knife.

Agreed that you need a deeper finger choil such as Street Beat, for anything involving self defense with such a small blade.

What are your thoughts on the G4's choil, as a potential self-defense blade? It's deeper than the one on the 3 plus you have more handle, but I'm still not convinced even the 4 would be a great knife for self defense purposes.

Bradford just came out with a Guardian 3.5 inch version. It has a blade that is essentially the same size as the Guardian 3. However it has a way better handle imho.

The 4 has a big enough handle that it could be viable but the 4 is a huge knife compared to the 3.

That knife IMO doesn't solve the 'problem' of small FB intended for self-defense, as nice as it may be for other uses (as I posted in my recent thread about it). I think the choil problem is not solved here, and the rest of the handle is not large enough on such a small knife to give you any compensating level of control, especially for "extraction" from tough materials.

The Kizer T2 in S35V is $88 at KC right now. A steal at that price IMO. Under 4", great steel, comfortable handle, and built like a tank. Blade shape and grind makes for a good utility task knife.

I've been enjoying the heck of out this one. The Lionsteel M4 has arguably better steel, but the finger choil on the T2 is better in my hand.
