Yesterday I placed a preorder for a GSO 3.5 in 3v and just a few minutes ago ordered another one in the 20cv.
I have yet to own anything in 20cv and figured this would be a nice way to try out this particular "super steel".

I got a 5.1 in 3v recently and everything about it just screams quality great design.
I am hoping the 3.5 is just as impressive and am very interested in comparing the two steels side by side.

BTW, my credit card was charged right away. Not that I'm worried, I thought someone else might want to know.

If you have used M390 then you have used 20CV they are identical for all intents and purposes just made by different companies.

3V is tougher, stains a bit, M390/20CV holds an edge longer, doesn't stain. That's about it. I think 3V is overkill on knives under 5 or 6 inches in length, at least for my uses.

I've recently been talking with the folks over at Tactical Tailor, about a molle backer that would work with the OEM SURVIVE! kydex sheaths, made by Kiah. They sent me one of those universal sheaths and of course only one of my knives, the GSO-4.1, fits in it. Please, flood their email and tell them you want to see molle backers for SURVIVE! Knives! ;)

Purchased Tactical Tailor's new 'Universal Knife Sheath', designed to hold most 6" fixed blade tactical knives.
(used their the 35% off)
I put my 'Survive! knives' GSO 4.1 in it and it fit's well.
Other than the 2 inch difference, it's snug, as the kydex insert has some kind of felt (replaceable) inside that stops the
blade from moving around.

Sounds good to me Guy.
Great... will let them know I'm interested.
Btw, re: 'SURVIVE! Knives!'... thanks for keepin' it real without all the pretentious fluff often encountered elsewhere.

Any news on the GSO 3.5? Will it get jimping? Can't see it on the pictures but hope it will!

No that I am aware. Pre-order is closed I believe and have been waiting in these since before the GSO 4.1 was released!

I am definitely in for the Necker II
I had a Necker but sold it because I didn't have an obvious role for it and needed the funds to buy fencing. Even with a lanyard, i couldn't make it work for me where I wouldn't prefer to have a folder with a longer handle for leverage. But ^This knife I can put to use just like my Izula, additionally my girls (2 & 4) love the smaller knives :) I may need to get a few (if I can manage it) with varying sheath colors to be gifts when they are old enough to use them responsibly

Oh, as an added note, I am very happy to see the curve of the handle here, the lack of which (along with lack of funds at the time) kept me away from the 3.5 pre-order. Guy needs to space theses out a bit more! :( I am afraid he'll roll out his folder or axe pre-order before I have enough saved to handle it...

For those interested, here is a cardboard mock-up of the Necker II compared to an Izula:

In case anyone is interested, here are a couple of pix of the GSO 5.1 w/ ferro notch. It throws a shower of sparks..
(these are posted in chiral.grolim's other comparison thread as well)

@ Chiral Grolim
Nice mock- up of the Necker II!

@Survivor Dan
I also choose for the ferro notch on the GSO 3.5. Great to know it works good!

Off topic slightly, but does anyone have any information as to when the preorder for the 6 will be open? Any ideas of a starting price?

Need it, otherwise the spine is not sharp enough on its own.

Was a couple of months ago, don't recall the price. I'd bet there will be a few extra, Guy's good like that.
