Fair enough, SwingCut, but don't you think your first post here should be about knives and perhaps a post in 'Community' telling us a bit about yourself. It would send a much better message, IMO.

I have participated in, so I am very 'rough around the edges' so to speak. I am learning everyday about the good and bad of forums.
I still dont understand exactly what happened there, and I am not even that dumb, LOL. Thanks to all who have read this and I was
a little irritated when I started it, and that showed.
As far as knives, I like candy stripe and Case greenbone slipjoints. I also am starting a pile of GEC Protos and I try to buy Royal Brand
Sharpcutter knives when I see em. I know some of those choices are boring, but hey, I am new at collecting.

Welcome to the forum and a couple pieces of advice (worth every penny you pay or them): read the stickies in the forums you play in -- especially the ones about the rules, the adage "read more, post less" is (usually) a survival trait, not an insult, and after hanging out a bit, if you like what you see, paying memberships include benefits -- as a registered user you can buy and trade. If you buy a gold (or higher) membership, you can also sell stuff - thereby raising funds to buy more.
also, if you're looking for a free-for-all (and the source of a lot of the inside jokes) check out the wine and cheese forum.
great place for adult humor, bad place for thin skin.

Unfortunately, if the mods here end up acting as sanctimonious and immature as the ones from ^$^$#.com, I will not be able
to help myself. My nature doesn't make allowances for unfair treatment of others. As far as having a good ribbing and getting
teased a little, my skin is plenty thick. But an outright attack or over the top unfair BS and I will be proud to get banned here too.
AND - I absolutely appreciate the advice and I do really try to use my ears twice as much as my mouth (er, uh - my eyes twice as much
as my fingers I guess it would be). So, thanks for the welcome guys, I will consider a paid membership. And to the mods, I will practice
my best online behavior, and hope that its good enough.

In addition to things that have already been posted here I felt I needed to add my $.02. This will help you greatly here if you understand the following:
1- Focus on the content of this site and not on who is around you.
2- Read more, post less. This is the golden rule until you get the hang of things here. Search works too. Use it, you won't break it I promise.
3- Disagreements will happen, not everyone is cut from the same cloth or has the same mentality, opinions, values, etc. It is how you deal with and treat those disagreements that makes the difference. If you chose to insult, demean, or threaten someone you are a troll. If you are able to discuss the topic in a logical manner, contribute to the overall understanding, and become part of the resolution then you become a valued and contributing member.
4- Remember, no one here knows everything about everything. We all chat, laugh, give, take, and share knowledge, stories, reviews, and other things. This is a terrific community and the members are what make it so. In my own experience, the mods here do not get paid and are probably thanked even less for the hours and hours of work they put in. If you give respect, you will get it back. Stop diggin already.
